Doesn't matter what you eat, to lose weight you have to burn more than you consume. If you want, you could eat only twinkies and still lose weight. Not that you should, for your overall health yah know but 🤷🏼♀️
Agreed with the overall idea, restricting a whole food group solely to lose weight is stupid.
For body composition it matters. Most people want to lose weight to look better which is more complicated math

Eat natural foods and live an active lifestyle, that’s really all there is to it.
One note is to include fruits in your diet as well as veggies, they’re nutrient-rich and extremely good for you. People get scared away from them because of the sugar content, but the natural sugars found in fruits are metabolized much differently than typical sugar and shouldn’t be a concern. Fruits and veggies are both important! (And fruits can make a delicious dessert once you wean yourself off of the sweeter processed foods that you’re used to)
You need to figure out what will sustain you and works for you. For example, I cant do smoothies for breakfast- too much sugar to start the day and leaves me hungry but it might work for you. I dont like cutting anything out either but ultimately losing weight is calories in vs calories out. Whether you eat less or exercise more it still boils down to that.
I’ve done this with WW. Ive always been more on the active side, but wasn’t losing ANYTHING. With WW, it’s become crystal clear that it’s really about what I eat and how much I eat. As of Friday, I’m 42 pounds down (since December). I truly don’t feel like it’s been that hard at all. I’ve found little things that have worked nicely and I enjoy big/less healthy meals in different ways now.
Try walking if you’re not a fan of traditional workouts. Agreed with the above comments that you need to burn more than you consume to lose weight. Try going for a couple 20 minute walks per day to get some movement in. Coupled with a balanced diet, you’ll probably lose some weight.
There is no “one size fits all diet” for anyone; when you don’t want to workout or follow an extreme diet, the best thing to do is try a variety of foods and see how your body responds.
People assume if they up their veggies or decrease carbs, etc, they will get the results. This is NOT true and real professionals understand this is not how the body works.
When I owned a fitness & nutrition business, I always started my clients on plans that included all food groups with no restrictions. The goal wa Sri track what their bodies were allergic to or caused sensitivity issues. Spinach may work for some but for others it could cause bloating and other issues. But it was green, right?
Your body will not steer you wrong but you need to silence all the fluff you hear commercially amd allow your body the time to tell you what it hates, loves and likes. Once you find that happy formula, you’ll be good.
Also, I hear a lot of people jumping right to how to get results from physical measures (eating & exercising) before understanding why they’re even asking such a question.
Lack of planning - in whole- is the worse way to get results. You need to understand why you think the way you do and how it’s going to ultimately affect your progress overall.
Let me know if you have questions.
Calculate your TDEE. Determine how much you need to eat with a 500 calorie deficit. Track everything (including oils) in MFP or another tracker. Oh, and know that your calculation will be off as will stated calories listed on packages so probably aim for a deficit closer to 700 per day. It won't matter what you eat but with minimal exercise you may be hungrier
Diet is significantly more important than exercise. I’d recommend evaluating your current eating habits (track average calories per day) and then you can work from there to reduce and you will lose weight.

Yes if you are in a calorie deficit, it’s actually not complicated, after years of dieting I finally figured it out. Simple Equation
I always get great answer from this bowl, thanks everyone!!! I will take your recommendations into account and research more/ listen to my body
HIIT workouts work so well for me... and cutting processed/refined will do wonders for your skin
