I only have one data point but I moved from the Monitor SL to Corp Strat at a F200 and my entire team (plus alums who were once in the role and have since moved on) is from MBB + Monitor + ATK.
Core skills are around commercial strategy so pricing and profitability analytics and strategy development, customer and competitor analytics, and go to market strategy development and execution.
I put in my two weeks notice the day I was promoted to Manager and tomorrow is my one year anniversary at my new job. I left for a lateral M role and after 10 months was promoted to Director. My comp when I left D was $155k base and ~$180k total expected. I left for $178k base and $223k expected. After my promo I’m at $191k base and $258k expected. Obviously it won’t grow like that every year but I’m still expecting ~5% total comp growth on non-promo years and bigger bumps every 2-4 years as I move into new roles.
D1 - were you S&o? Would someone tech have a shot ?
D1, can you share some information about what your core skills were that you developed during your time at Deloitte?
Also, what level did you leave The Monitor Group at? How was your compensation and salary growth once you joined the Corp Strategy side?
Really look forward to your responses, thank you!
@D1 good for you. That's kickass
Thanks for the detailed description D1. How would you recommend getting similar experience while in the tech practice?
