It's going to be tough. If they plain don't like you they're getting ready to axe you right after busy. Start updating your resume and talking to recruiters to be safe.
Doesn't matter what your schedule looks right now. They can easily slide someone else in later. You're probably safe till May. Question is, want to work really hard and many hours to be let go in May ?
Focus on frequent informal feedback from the person writing your review and even the person above the reviewer. That should help you get specific things to improve on to make progress over the next few months
Why are you asking for your "friend"? Ask for yourself.
To be honest, you probably won't be promoted to senior. They're just laying the groundwork now and putting you on notice. They've also give you a great chance to prove them wrong.
How bad?
Not on PIP yet and given a chance to improve my YE review during busy season. Also fully staffed on other clients through sep of next year. It's my main client and only one I've gotten bad reviews on
You have 4 months to earn at least a 3 I mean you can get a 3 right?
Definitely going to try...
What level??
Staff 2
They like me (as far as I'm aware), and even if I've got my schedule filled for most of the year?
Didn't really think they would fire before YE reviews in May
^If not let go, held back from promotion*.
No not really haha. Im already in contact with recruiters and have updated my resume just in case. Will start looking after busy season seriously since it seems like it doesn't seem worth it
Don't listen to AS1. Bust your ass over busy season and if you improve over busy season you might not end up on a PIP. Even with this year's layoffs, they haven't historically let anyone go immediately after round tables and ratings are given. This was a tough year and they give you at least a few months to get your shit together.
Im planning on working hard, but just wanted an honest discussion and to keep my options open
^Keep the options open. No reason to put someone on PIP unless you're willing to cut them loose. If you were just okay or alright they would have made it informal.
Im not technically on PIP though, keeping them open nonetheless though
