Reposting from HR bowl: I’ve heard there is a hiring boom, especially for L&D roles. I was let go recently from a toxic environment (removed the company from everything) after only 4 days of work. I’m actively job searching but not receiving ideal hits. I see a lot of senior level L&D roles but not as many for specialist roles, specifically in tech. I have 5.5 years of experience. 2nd year here: When do you leave a firm because your not getting any work? I don’t want put details but it’s not due to lack of trying on my end. I’ve also been told I do good work and people like working with me. We also hired too many people this past year and partners hoard hours for bigger bonus. How long do I stick it out? Is it bad that I want to quit after a few months on the job at a mid-market firm? The people are nice enough, but my training has been nonexistent and I am expected to just figure things out on my own, but am reprimanded if I do something incorrectly.

I had an initial call with a recruiter and got turned down about 6-7 months ago. I was having a really bad day (just found out a relative had passed, more than normal work stress, ect) and just really had a tough time gathering my thoughts. I honestly should have rescheduled the call but I just didn’t really want to have to push it out and coordinate schedules again. Any chance I can get a second look? The career path aligns with my interests and my background is a great fit.

My girlfriend accepted an offer from a smaller accounting firm for a marketing associate role, while in the middle of interviews with another large accounting firm. She just started working this week at the small accounting firm, and just received an offer from the large accounting firm. She really wants to take the offer but is afraid of any potential repercussions or consequences. If the large accounting firm finds out, could they terminate her offer?

A bit nervous about the transition to FAAS from audit (3 years experience). What should I expect in the first few months.
