What benefit would you like to see implemented in your firm/company due to the pandemic? How about WFH forever. No mandatory going back to the office.
How has everyone met their partners here? Tinder/Grindr etc are total meat markets and I haven’t had much success besides getting laid. I moved 1500 miles away in March and I switched jobs in August (fully remote still). I’m having a really hard time meeting high quality guys and it’s really getting to me. Does anyone have any advice that doesn’t involve going to a bar? I get really bad social anxiety at times and would prefer to husband shop elsewhere.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE working form home full time. However, I have noticed I feel less relaxed after work and I think it might be because I don't have that time commuting home to listen to audiobooks and decompress. How do you 'leave work at work' when you have a home office?
Hi all, I am looking for 3 TA Supervisors. These roles are all 100% remote, permanently. Looking for someone with 1-2 years of TA supervisory experience, supervising a team of at least 4-5. Must have experience with high volume recruiting (agency, internal, or RPO) and have experience with influencing process/procedure. Must live in the continental US, but we are unable to hire in NY, CA, or OR unfortunately. The teams to be managed recruit customer service/sales. PM me if interested.
Am I ruining my opportunity of a potential job offer if I do a video interview from my car? This is a 30 min interview with the boss of the person I had a 1 HR interview with last week. I am not WFH and I have left early/come in late too often recently ar my current position due to interviews so I figured I’d try scheduling during lunch not realizing it’d be another video interview. Please help!
Anyone else go back to playing an instrument / pick a new one up with wfh? Even with our schedules, I’m pleased to snatch 10-20 min here or there (for piano). Debating if it’s time to reinvest in a teacher.
Folks who’ve left ClearView, how is life on the other side, and how long did you stay before you jumped ship? It’s a week where I’m burning, and the fact that I feel so isolated during it makes me want to quit consulting altogether. Would also like to talk to some of you if possible. Never thought I’d say this but I honestly feel unhappy in my job, and I wonder if it is just WFH related - and whether it might get better once the office opens up.
I work in a fast growth population (300% in the last year) that does not have a unified approach to work habits (remote work, flexible hours, etc.) All roles can be done remotely, but there is a strong in house culture for the revenue teams. My gut tells me this is a pivotal time for executive leadership to take a soft stance on working expectations - but unsure how realistic that is. Has anyone been in a similar situation, how did you approach it, and what was the outcome? Thanks!
would you move back in with your parents if you were fully remote? i earn 90K and am in 24k student loan debt currently paying $1650 in rent. i’m 26f but honestly at this point it’s starting to feel a little silly not to move home and pay $600 in their property tax while i save aggressively. i’m just worried about giving up my independence but it seems a little nonsensical at this point—what would you do in my situation?
Work from home will be a bliss they said. Meanwhile me... **Please, leave your struggles with WFH too under comments!**
Older consultants: WFH is so nice, I can chill in my nice house, use my existing network that I formed over 10 years of in person work to get ahead, and delegate all my work to the analysts and spend time with my family Young consultants: I don’t know anyone at my firm and no one knows me, I have terrible WLB and no work boundaries, I am stuck in a tiny apartment or have overstayed my welcome with my parents, and am not learning anything or getting any professional development Accurate?
Let's see what we are all making. Include current salary, location, industry, and YoE please. Reply using your title. I'm going first in the comments.
Hi every one, I need your suggestion, I received offer from PwC sdc .HR verbally saying its permanent work from remote but when I request her to give me in writing she give me written note in very confusing language. What should I do. Should I trust hr. I can not relocate to Bangalore. Plz advise
For those of you, who work for companies that want to return to in-person work from fall, are you planning to change jobs for a full-time/mostly remote option? I feel my company in financial services tech is thinking backwards, and that I need to move asap.
Edelman announced 3 days in, WFH 2 days. What are other PR firms doing? BCW, W2, Kyne, marina, etc?
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about an open remote EA role at his company. Fast forward, the recruiter tells me that leadership now wanted an EA that was in-person. I’m disappointed bc I wasn’t even looking for a new role when he reached out and was excited about the possible new opportunity. Has anyone successfully countered a company’s decision with reasons why a remote EA works just as well as an in-person one?

Last year, My girlfriend was making 80k while I was making 200k so I took her out to dinners and took care of the groceries etc. Basically made sure it’s an equitable relationship. She got a new job this year and is now making 210k (more than me) but still expects me to pay for all the dinners and groceries. I’ve already talked to her about this but just resulted in argument. Is there any coming back from this situation to make this equitable relationship or is break up the only option here?
Just curious: 1) How much is your rent? 2) City you live 3) Salary - just want to get a feel of how some people spend money on rent against salary.
When a senior partner inserts a client’s son as an intern even though the interviewers unanimously rejected him. #consultingcronyism
So I’m out for dinner at 8pm and we are all working from home, manager called and I said “I’m having a dinner with someone now”. He said “next time, keep me posted on your schedule”. Is this proper?
Cat thread :)
"How attached are you to your planned vacation?" 🙄🙄🙄
What does a project in the Digital Health practice at Accenture look like from a SC standpoint?
Moved into apt couple years ago. Me and 2 roommates bought tv. First kid moves out, the other comes in and buys his share out of tv. I move out, new kid moves in. Won't pay for TV but out -- (cont.)
💰***MASTER PwC COHORT THREAD***💰For the sake of FB this can be our one stop shop for comp posts... Please post in uniform format (Vertical, Cohort Level, City, Advanced Degree if applicable, Salary)
When do you know it's time to leave consulting?
Is it ok to get personal in salary negotiations? For example, let the recruiter know that I’m a single parent supporting three young kids and two retired parents and I really need more money.
Would anyone know someone with 2-4 YoE in Austin who’s looking for a Marketing role? They’d be working at a top VC firm in the area, and have a ton of exposure to top (we’re talking unicorns of $500m+) founders and investors. Ideally we’re looking for someone with a tech marketing background.
I trust the cracked out hobo outside my apartment more than the mute button on Skype/Lync.
Out of curiosity, I work in the federal practice and work about 45 hours a week. What is work life balance like in other federal practices at different firms?
