It isn't necessarily hard. But one of the prerogatives of senior management is that they get to delegate more than middle management, and they get to choose what they delegate. Sometimes, they cost to delegate logistics like making and managing meetings.
Personally, when managing up I actually prefer to be the one setting up meetings. It means I can ensure I'm a part of every important conversation, which can help me become essential to the success of projects with high turnover or lots of ambiguity, because I'm one of the few who has full context for all the decisions that have been made to-date.
It is smart. I am happy to do it for my boss, but only my boss
But isn’t it your job to book the room?
Whoever calls the meeting books the room. Case closed.
If you keep booking the rooms, they will continue to ask you to keep booking the rooms.
You’re right. It’s actually on me to somehow stop this or at a minimum slow it down.
Shuffling papers and appearing in meetings is difficult enough dont you think? Also if i had to book a meeting i would question its value and may not have the meeting....then the shocking thing would happen....we may get work done. Its much easier to get someone to book a meeting so we all can talk about doing the work but not actually doing it - don't you think?
Once in a while I can understand but not everyday. It is no one’s job to book rooms multiple times per day and every day. That’s just called being lazy.
Generally I would expect PM to book the meetings.
