Thanks! I didn’t think so either.

I believe you need one if you’re a loss company, irregardless of transactions.

Thanks. I always see them filed even if one of the transactions didn’t occur in the year.

Two questions for those of you at Big 4/other national firms:

1) At what level do you really start to see the entire tax return from start to finish?

I work at a smaller regional firm with roughly 70 employees (never been at a firm larger than 300 people), and I’ve been involved with many interviews of candidates from Big 4 firms where I walked away very unimpressed. Cont...

I’m a tax senior 1 (will be a senior 2 in October) and just got an offer with a 26% raise at a large public company on their provision team. There’s also an aspect of FP&A and helping with transactions so not strictly tax. All seems super interesting and the team seems great. I really like my EY team and my counselor has talked to me about an early manager promo next year but have never intended to be a PA lifer. Any reason I shouldn’t take it?

Had a phone call about my chargeable hours today. Was told to make sure we charge all hours to the client and the partner will decide what to write off. Next week will probably be, “make sure to be cognizant of the budget”. Either case the partner decides what to charge regardless of how many or how little hours I put into the client 🙄 The data is manipulated constantly, yet that’s what we are judged on.
