From everything I’ve read, there’s very little known about this virus at this point in time. I wouldn’t freak out about it, but I would be cautious. Likely the severity and risk of the disease will depend largely on the global health community’s response and speed.
If youre scheduled to travel in the next 48 hours, I’d talk to your pediatrician but they probably don’t have much more information at this point. If you’re traveling in the next few weeks, I think give it some time to play out. These things can change course and speed very quickly.
Good suggestion talking to ped.. thank you
What’s the consensus on domestic travel? Anything to worry about there? (Might be pregnant)
I’m pregnant, travel, and have done a ton of research on this. Currently, the corona virus risk in the US is extremely low. Things like flu and fifths disease are way bigger risks to traveling mamas than corona virus. But things could change quickly so keep an eye on the news and talk to your ob/gyn if you have additional concerns.
The CDC has recommended restricting non essential travel to specific parts of China. No current recommend restrictions on travel within US. Risk for domestic travel is likely low. Also China has initiated several quarantine protocols and limited travel to and from affected areas, so it sounds like they are actively working to limit spread.
I do have a newborn and honestly am even scared of taking her outside
