Is it safe to travel abroad with a baby? Scared of Corona virus

From everything I’ve read, there’s very little known about this virus at this point in time. I wouldn’t freak out about it, but I would be cautious. Likely the severity and risk of the disease will depend largely on the global health community’s response and speed.

If youre scheduled to travel in the next 48 hours, I’d talk to your pediatrician but they probably don’t have much more information at this point. If you’re traveling in the next few weeks, I think give it some time to play out. These things can change course and speed very quickly.

Good suggestion talking to ped.. thank you

What’s the consensus on domestic travel? Anything to worry about there? (Might be pregnant)

I’m pregnant, travel, and have done a ton of research on this. Currently, the corona virus risk in the US is extremely low. Things like flu and fifths disease are way bigger risks to traveling mamas than corona virus. But things could change quickly so keep an eye on the news and talk to your ob/gyn if you have additional concerns.

The CDC has recommended restricting non essential travel to specific parts of China. No current recommend restrictions on travel within US. Risk for domestic travel is likely low. Also China has initiated several quarantine protocols and limited travel to and from affected areas, so it sounds like they are actively working to limit spread.

I do have a newborn and honestly am even scared of taking her outside

These days I am always imagining of moving out and separating from my husband. He doesn’t talk or communicate at all. Whatever free time he has , he talks with his mom and dad. Our son also isn’t a priority to him. It’s been 5 years and it has now come to a standstill. I am also slightly scared of him. Can I move out with the kid or do I need to get a lawyer ?

Sometimes I wonder if only, I didn't have a passion (professionally), maybe, I'd be much happier taking any job that comes my way. I've been struggling to find a job in my practice area- that I'm genuinely passionate about, for almost a year now (in all fairness, covid didn't help). So much for passion. Every shred of confidence I had is dwindling.

Just needed to vent.

Pre-pandemic we were headed for a burnout. Dual career household and always over-committed! With things opening back up, I don’t want return to that frantic pace or stress from being late for morning meetings or pick up from daycare, behind on work/working late to catch-up, chores, etc. I have loved this extra time with my family. Are you making lifestyle changes post-COVID? If so, how?

Anyone take time off from work to stay home until the littles were in school? Would you do it again?

Ignoring COVID for a second and how it'll impact firm's financial capability to even give bonuses, do firms with billable reqs usually still give bonuses to first years even if they don't make the threshold?

Maybe like 5% of my first year class will make the threshold (and tbh that number would be around the same of COVID never happened. Just curious as to how most NYC big law deal with this.

This will be her first year end but I have been told that she will get help from my manager if need be. This week I asked her to help on a simple task and she overdid it. Now she’s blaming me for
