In addition, he used to control all our finances including investing and I don’t know where to start. Can someone please help? Do I put my money in a Roboadvisor or ETFs? Are they the same? I don’t have a risk appetite to play with whatever savings I have left. Thanks!

First off - I am extremely new to this type of professional networking and it seems to me that more than 85% of the posts are about compensation, career etc…. So, give me a shout out if your are 27 years old have a NW of 40K or less and approx 175k TC or less. Just trying to see if I can find folks sailing in the same boat to explore more career options. My wife makes about 200 ish. Life is ok but feels like I’m starting out a little late ( thank you student loans).

A friend has failed the bar a few times, and it has so affected him that he decided he won’t try again. Fortunately he had a career prior to school and returned to it (with massive loan debt). I understand we are in a pandemic, but I can’t help but think of him every time I hear discussion of the diploma privilege bar admission alternative to the bar exam. Do you think this is the best alternative?

I moved to a new city and I'm not sure if I will stay for longer than 2 yrs. I might move back to my country. Therefore I don't think it makes sense to buy a new car. Used cars prices are very inflated so I was thinking about leasing a Sentra instead (lease for 2 yrs is $319 with 0 downpayment). Does this make sense or what would you suggest?

How much are you contributing to your 401k?

Need a quick gut check

I’m 25 and make 155k/year but this is my first full year of making 6 figures. $675 mortgage, $200 car payment , maxing out ROTH & 401k and company RSUs.

My mom who selflessly did everything for me desperately needs a car but doesn’t have good credit. A 2023 Toyota Corolla is ~$400/month and I want her to be safe but worry about compounding interest and making a massive financial mistake. Does 5k post tax really make that much of a difference for a few years?

How do Point of Sale companies (buy now pay later) offer 0% APR make money with customers who don't end up paying any interest due to having on-time payments.

New 🐟 here! Currently make $150k, wife makes $50k. I’m an immigrant and came to the US with almost no money. Wife is a citizen but grew up poor. Neither of us really knows how to budget / plan for the future. So far I’ve just been reading articles on the internet and trying to follow general advice.

E.g. Rent and utilities is about 26% of take home.
15% goes to debt payments.
Savings about 25%.

Should I get a financial planner? How should I go about this? Idk why I’m stressed

*Sealed Classes in Java 17*

The sealed class allows one to describe which class or interface can extend or implement this class or interface. In short, we can put restrictions on who can use this class or interface. Suppose we have Student abstract class and if we make it a sealed class and permit only ScienceStudent and CommerceStudent to extend the class, then only those classes will be able to extend the Student and other classes will get an error if they try to extend it.
