With your title of analyst, I have to believe you’re decades out from a normal retirement ago, yeah? Let’s be conservative and say 30 years. Go ahead and look at historic averages of 30 year time periods and you tell us if you’re too late…

Don’t time the market. If you have a long horizon just invest and ignore the news

Dollar cost averaging is the way my friend. If you have a 5+ time horizon, don't bother thinking about the day to day status of the market.

You will still own the shares regardless of the price fluctuations. Keep buying at all levels if you have a long time horizon.

I’m a 32 yo single male, 390k/yr annual compensation, live in Manhattan. Here is my post tax annual spending - is my discretionary too high?
- 40% to savings and investments
- 20% student loan payments
- 2% money home to parents
- 14% fixed expenses (eg rent, utilities, food, etc)
- 24% discretionary (eg trips, going out, etc)

Know this is totally dependent on personal circumstances, goals, desired lifestyle, etc but would be great to get feedback to better my habits. Thanks!

Been in the stock market since September, and feel like I’ve gotten the hang of things since then.

Been looking for other avenues to explore investment opportunities (and ways to hedge against a correction) for when I get older (currently very early 20s)

Currently in crypto

Been exploring opening a Roth IRA and buying Gold.

Are these two avenues worth it for the long term?
If so, what reliable platforms do you all recommend for either?

Or do you all suggest something better?

I found out my manager for the last five months was never planning to stick around for long and his manager knew it and was arranging an internal transfer for him. I did not know this and now my own manager’s lack of interest in the group’s projects makes complete sense to me. It burns me a lot to realize that many times when he and I went into a group presentation and I found he had not done 100% of his homework, it was because he wasn’t as invested. Feeling used now. Unsure what to do.

Hello everyone! New fish here in this fishbowl. I have a question concerning empowering and developing the team.

Is it possible to empower the team and delegate certain tasks and then risk to be perceived as “irrelevant” to the superiors (because the team is doing the legwork)? Is this an unfounded fear? Is it a real risk? And if it is a real risk, how can I manage it?

Probably an ignorant question, but are there any alternatives to a traditional mortgage for a $1M+ loan? I have heard jumbo loans can have lower rates depending on the person and bank. But is there anything that is closer to a bond rate loan if you have a 800+ credit score and say 30% down?
