I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Is M&A experience a must for corp strat exit opps? Looking to move to industry- mainly tech corp strat roles. Would appreciate insights if anyone has had experiences in this move. HNY!
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
Whats the culture and work like at Strategy&? 3 yrs out of UG all at Big 4 advisory (MC - financial services)...do I need an MBA? If not, what role would I be able to get with my current experience
Anyone know how COVID19 has impacted business across different McKinsey functions? Anyone heard of hiring freeze, or worse, potential layoffs in the summer?
Thoughts on moving from internal audit (risk advisory/assurance) after a year for a senior internal audit rotational program position?
Recruiter told me the role normally has 3 interviews but both of my first two were with partners and they might just be able to make a decision between the two of them and not have a third…Can you bypass rounds?
Left consulting early this year for a role in industry that isn’t panning out. Boss and pay is great but job description isn’t what was promised and feel like my skills are stagnating. Starting to get interviews and unsure how to explain applying to jobs after only 7 months.. Thoughts?
Hi folks! I had given an interview for a SAP MM COUPA openings at Deloitte USI on April. The interview had gone well till technical round 2 but I didn't get any calls back from the HR then. Today, I again received a call from a Deloitte HR saying this is regarding the position that you had applied for, in the month of April and now the position is open and if I would like to interview again. In case if I appear for the interview will that again start from the scratch?
Has anyone obtained the SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credentialing? if so, did you find the class and credential worthwhile? Could you share where you found value added to your role as a recruiter?
Frustrated - I am being considered for a role that would be quarterly travel. The rest remote. I’m currently 100% remote now. My husband is against me taking it since it would be a lateral move.
I need some cash. Anybody want a EY referral?
I’d like to apologize in advance as this maybe a touchy topic for certain folks. For those that have been in the Big 4 for sometime now (i.e. was hired before this covid induced hiring spree over the past couple months), are you concerned that your market value would decrease as a result of the firms hiring people left and right? In other words, the recruiting has been excessively relaxed now compared to when there was intense competition.
I’m about 1.5 years in, busy season ends in Feb, have a job offer lined up at another big 4 early March as a senior in an m&a advisory role. This will be the first job I’m leaving and I swear the anxiety I have revolving quitting is worse than busy season. How do I go about leaving virtually...who do I email first? I’m lost please help
Looking at a Jeffries equity research position. Has anyone made the lateral into equity research? Can anyone refer me to the bowl for IM?
How is non-MBB consulting viewed in the big scale? Looking into exit opps, but people keep acting like I’m giving up gold by trying to leave, yet I feel like almost anything is better than here
Are AlixPartners or Alvarez & Marsal’s TRS/Restructuring groups on a hiring freeze? (I heard A&M was recently). TIA
Thoughts on moving in-house at the end of maternity leave from Big Law? Will it burn bridges at my firm? I’m a mid-level currently on leave, and was just offered a position with a high-growth sister company of one of my firm’s largest clients. A part of me thinks that my practice group leader will be happy to have me there to bring future business his way, but another voice in my head says I’m just fooling myself and that resigning after a 20-week leave is bound to piss people off.
If you get laid off as green card holder, do you have to go back to your home country? Can I take contract jobs while searching for full time?
If you're looking for something unique to post in your digital classroom i posted an audio field trip to Mackinac Island. https://anchor.fm/josh-h/episodes/Mackinac-Island-Field-Trip-eci0nb
Anyone know if IPG mediabrands is a known company? Specifically looking at taking a role in a data science group there
Do Bonvoy points always expire after 12 months, regardless of what tier you make? Coming off of IHG and those did not expire at EOY.
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
Who wants to work in Risk Advisory in ATL, Bham, or Nashville at a firm where you can be your authentic self, and actually have a work/life balance? DHG is looking for good people. Growing 25-35%/yr

As someone with a background in the military, is it worth it to try to go back to the government as a tax analyst or senior tax analyst for the Dept of the Treasury? I'm wondering if I'll have an edge in getting hired as I've been at the GS-13 level before I left the military and I'm hoping I can use that time in service to add to a pension time requirement in the government.
What’s the best way to roll off a team without blow back? These people are stressing me out
Can I get a job in a private equity firm as an analyst after a CFA, and what procedure is needed to adopt for this?
Anyone worried about layoffs? I saw a post about Deloitte laying off 5000 employees ... I know EY saying no lay off this year but what about other firms?
Slalom Consulting folks: what salary would you expect 1-2 years post-MBA? Medium COL city if that matters.
Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
