Is it true that acquiring Sec+ cert will make me more desirable on the job market? Currently working to make my exit out of Consulting.

Not really no.

It can be a box tick and that's about it.

There are many more attractive security certifications from red team aligned to audit / process and or defense.

Find the specialization you want to go for and cert accordingly.

If you just wanna do consulting CISSP or more practical CEH is a strong start

Not really, I have it. Guess what I'm still doing? However, paired with actual skills in those areas it would help. So basically no not on its own, yes if you have some other skill sets.

like

Not necessarily. Only if you are trying to break into security

I got the Sec+ about 6 months of college and in the middle of my job hunt. Honestly without previous IT experience in security, it really didn't seem to make much of a difference at least not for security jobs.

That's not to say don't do it because it's still a useful cert if you're trying to get into security. More like it's not going to get you more interviews just because it's on your resume.

Although if you want to pursue it, for your own benefit I say do it. I definitely learned a lot by studying for it so from a knowledge stand point I found it super useful.

Hi fishes,
I had got a call recently for manager role in process mining.what is the starting salary band usually given for such a role?

I’m a patent pros. paralegal working in bio/chem at my firm, 26 yo with an MS in Chem at 100k and a 115 hr billable req.
After the mental beat down that was grad school, I’m happy to have straightforward tasks and mentally coast, but my attys want me to start studying for the patent bar asap.
I like where I’m at and I know that once I start down the tech spec/agent/attorney path, it’s going to be full speed. How long do you think I can/should stay in this position before starting to study?

I got a call for a Java position. I told them I do not develop in Java. I do JavaScript with React. He says “oh yes, that is what the client wants”. So I sent my resume. When he sent the confirmation email it stated Angular/Java. I told him that I don’t have much Java skills. He then sent this (pic) as a response. 🤔🤔🤔
When I spoke to the client she had no idea why the recruiter added angular react as it was just a Java developer position, Completely wasted so much time

What healthy diets did you go on? What foods did you cut out/introduce? My naturopath told us both to reduce red meat and dairy.
I’m south Asian if that makes a difference.
