Yes! I was on ortho tricyclen Lo for 10 years and it worked very well for thus
PWC6 it’s hard for me to say, I started when I was about 12 to help with some pretty severe period symptoms. I don’t remember how long it took for things to turn around, but would expect it was >1 year.
At the end of the day, it’s what pill works best for you. One of the birth controls that my gyno swears by caused me to be extremely depressed. It’s trial and error until you find one that works for you
I was on lo lo estrin and it significantly reduced my acne.
Second this. When I go off it the acne comes back
I’m using Spironolactone which is not a birth control (I have a Mirena IUD), and it’s helped SO MUCH.
My daughter swears by this as well.
I would recommend trying skin products/accutane over birth control to help acne (unless you are also looking for the birth control piece of it) - I’ve been on mine since I was 15 because hormone issues and hasn’t impacted my skin at all - my skin has improved a lot since using drunk elephant exclusively and not wearing makeup most of the time and now really only get hormonal breakouts
Yes. I went on Ovcon and it completely eliminated my acne.
Did any of these make you gain weight?
I bled the entire three months depo lasted for. Did not get the next shot. 10/10 do not recommend.
It needs to have estrogen in the pill to help acne. So mini pill, Mirena, etc. don’t have estrogen and won’t help it has to be a combination pill.
Be careful as one of then caused me to get body acne whem I never had them before (and won't go away even after stopping it)
I went on the pill a few years back and it caused acne for me. Switched pills to juleber (my current prescription), and it’s been better ever since. It really varies from person to person, just talk it over with your doctor and give it a trial period
My acne has gotten worse since I went on the patch. Hormonal acne 24-7.
When I was on the pill my acne did get better, but it also caused me clinical depression and blood clots.
