Is it true that cops get bonuses and rewards based on the amount of people they detain? Why whould such a thing exist?

Not exactly. A lot of people talk about cops having a "quota" that they have to meet, like how many traffic stops they make, how many tickets they hand out, etc. There is no hard and fast rule and no incentives for "doing a better job" by issuing more citations or whatever, but if you are below a certain threshold, it's definitely a red flag that you are probably not doing as much as you should. People break laws all the time and if you are looking carefully enough you will find examples

I wish this were true, sometimes I have to work in very scuzzy areas where it would be a cinch... and the extra $$$ would really come in handy!

That's really not a thing; if it were, then there would be a lot of corruption and unwarranted charges. The law is very specific about what we can and can't do, and believe it or not, we don't like having run-ins with civilians unnecessarily.

32, married. Have tried to keep expenses growing slower than income over time and have been able to sock away a good amount. Really don't feel like I need to spend more to be happy, so goal is to get to a net worth where I feel I can do everything I want (mainly traveling) and give my kids a good life so they can do whatever they want. Feel like I need 7.5-10M to feel comfortable doing this and think this could occur around age 40-50. Anyone successfully done this and taken foot off the gas?

Honest advice needed, I keep thinking about going for an MBA to a top tier school, there are multiple reasons why I want to do it. One being getting sense of accomplishment & another being ability to get a job with a top tier consulting firm or FAANG that pays really well. I’m 35, manager at PwC. I come from a humble background in India and was not able to afford an MBA when I came to US but it has bothered me since. Is it too late to go for a full time MBA? Will parttime be equally beneficial
