Which function in tech has the best earning and impactful work?

Planning to exit to tech, and I know product managers probably make the most $ but I find their jobs seem to be too much in the weeds. Can be demotivated especially when you just start and work on product with small scale and niche audience. Am I wrong here?

What are some other functions to consider with good $ and impact?
