No lol
It’s encouraged but by no means required - with the exception being for some client environments
I try to be on camera when possible, and I encourage my teams to be when we are working with a client, but certainly for large internal calls at least half of the crowd has cameras off
Being on camera does help with some of the personal connection, and you can read body language etc. It’s not meant as a way to check up on what folks are doing, but to help foster connections when the team isn’t collocated
Depends on the person and team like every company?
I’m not camera shy at all but the day this is mandated is the day I resign.
Now That, is solidarity.

Never heard of this being the case what so ever. I’ve never seen some of my coworkers faces lmao
The Florida market is relatively new OP. I don’t think maybe people have data points on this team as it’s relatively small.
Why would you join with your camera off?
D1 i understand that’s your preference, but that was not the question. Perhaps you’re early career? As you start working with others and if you become a leader it will serve you well to see the perspectives of others who may not all be like you. :-)
We also require you to show your full body on camera to ensure you’re not in shorts/undies.
Most breakfast sandwiches must be displayed before consumption. Global mandate. 100% true.
Not at all, only when clients want. Slalom is very good at respecting if you don’t want to be on the webcam.
Definitely not a company-wide edict and I know of no teams actually requesting this.
From what I have seen, it’s not a mandate but expectation that you don’t always be off camera. It’s ok to be off camera for few meetings, but it shouldn’t be the case all the time. You should better judge based on meeting where camera turned on might help and when it doesn’t.
I myself like to be on Camera for most part, but skip sometime if I want to multi-task and the meeting isn’t much relevant to me and someone else is handling it.
I turn my camera on if I want to. End of story.
No offense taken. And I’m still not turning my camera on. 😂
From my experience, it’s dictated by the client. Some require it, some don’t.

I wouldn't sit in a physical meeting with a black bag over my face... Why would I do that in a virtual one? Are we actually still debating this 2 years into hybrid?
Yeah SC6, why are you still debating this?
Chicago market here. Yes camera is a big thing with people in this office. It’s kind of annoying. I’m working on a global team and most of the people on my team do not like Slalom, but love the current engagement team and the client. Probably for reasons like this, like forced networking and smiles.
My leadership meetings are virtually all on camera (but people are off at times). Clients we kind of follow their lead.
On full team meetings or bigger sessions very few people are on camera beside the speaker.
I one on one with my leader on camera, one of my team members does it, the other has a more challenging personal set up for it and rarely is on camera.
Overall I think you need some, and when I went to an all camera culture right before Slalom I thought it was a net positive.
Depends 100% on the client and office. Generally speaking I keep mine off unless I’m speaking.
