Is it true? That tech offices have awesome snack/food situations? Like what do ya’ll get?

Regular people: "OMG, big tech companies give you FREE food?!? That seems like a dream job!"
Tech Companies: "After thorough analysis, strategically placing this food/drink station near their working area and giving them free breakfast/lunch/dinner correlates to them not leaving the office campus until very late 😈"

But to answer your question, yeah tech companies have a lot of crazy cool stuff in their office campuses.

The first tech place I worked at (before covid times) kept a fully stocked kitchen with regular snacks like chips, fruit, cheese, any type of breakfast bread and condiment you could want, lots of drinks, and even like eggs if you wanted to cook them up. They also had a great coffee machine. They also provided lunch and dinner a fair amount but also remember it's not free, they are buying your labor. The price is they want you working at your desk as much as possible and having no reason to leave.

Fact. Tons of great food - including baristas and coffee bars, fresh fruit, rotating new options.

Does anybody take these snacks home? Asking for a friend

Literally every time I am offered free snacks at an office, I take all I can back home.

Full fridge of soda, juices, coffee, energy drinks, water, kombucha and a full snack bar - not so much actual food though. DoorDash/PostMates stipend tho - can confirm having food and drinks in the office does make it easy to stay there all day and work an extra 4-6 hours each day lol. Well played, employer

WFH.. I get all the snacks I can afford! So those "perks" don't matter to me.

Yes only for this reason ….. ☠️

Best food I’ve ever had at tech company was Dropbox (pre-Covid)… swear it was like Michelin star quality

Free breakfast, lunch, all the snacks you can imagine and lots of surprise desserts. Some offices also have a barista

I worked at a web hosting company before covid, breakroom had pool table, ping pong, Xbox, stocked kitchen, they catered good food every month, and my boss brought craft beer for his team every friday.

That's a fact! My company provides meals and lots of snacks. We also have a coffee machine which was my personal favorite.

Soda, soda water, meh coffee, fresh milk, milk alternatives, and other drinks. Not any snacks.

There's a very active free food distribution list when meetings cater food and it doesn't get all eaten.

Meta has free breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with “micro kitchens” on every floor stocked with a variety of chips, crackers, candies, sodas, juices, coffees, energy drinks, and sparkling waters. In MPK, there are multiple restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and more—all free.

Yup...I worked for SAS and they had frozen fruits and ninja to make smoothies in office. And all sort of snacks.

Free food and lunches in silicon valley tech offices is akin to showers and beds at hedge funds and wall Street companies in NYC some time back. Those MF'ers didn't want people to even go home.

Yeah there’s like trader joes snacks and frozen meals and shit it’s pretty gangsta

Wherever I worked yes but I would not say they always emphasize on the healthy snacks.

I know some tech companies provide fun classes and I think those are valuable. Like cooking classes, etc for personal development. I'd say the food gets overrated. I've met google employees who want to "hang out at google and eat there." and live at "google hotels". They are also happen to be people who aren't interesting and I personally can't spend more than 30 minutes talking them. Balance is good.

Website still says 1 left, but when I add it in my cart its sold out. Now I can't find that top anywhere else esp at that price point. Sorry if I sound annoying I just wanted to vent 😭
