What? I am confused. What are you trying ask? Did you mean by your self vs jointly with spouse?
I've never heard this before, it has nothing to do with stocks versus bonds versus options.
The only thing that makes sense is that you can hold most stocks for decades while options and bonds have termination dates forcing you to sell. By that alone would trigger taxes, but someone who trades stocks every day will generate taxes while someone who holds options for a year may not generate taxes (until the end of the option)
bad grammar here but if you meant "longer" then yes. any stocks or options that you buy and sell within less than 12 months you are taxed at your income rate. Any stocks or options you buy and hold for longer than 12 months you will be taxed at the long-term gains rate which at most is 20% when you sell. much cheaper then short-term income rate
