No, it’s not true .
Nice
*if* that’s true, that’s absolutely terrible.
People who would do that wouldn’t think to track down the business partner responsible for the branding. They’d just go after the company whose name is on the product
Not true. Also who cares. We’re here to do this. It’s our job. The work comes first
I don’t think my job is cool or not cool. I think it is how I earn my living and I try, like the rest of my co-workers, to take my job seriously. Part of that is putting any energy wasted on cynicism into the work. It’s an oddly hostile response. It’s cool though
That’s insane and scary but I can’t say I’m surprised. After all, the people who are upset are the same people who have gone into newspaper offices with guns
Employee communications and Physical security is imperative when making bold moves.
Happy to hear it isn’t true. Now on to a funnier observation: This work is really good advertising, but W + K 2’s response on this thread is a perfect reminder that working in advertising is not a cool, holier-than-thou pursuit. It’s hilarious that anyone thinks they’re cool because they work in advertising. Wieden peeps are the worst, but there are many guilty parties. Doesn’t matter where you work: Your job is not cool, but if it takes care of you and yours, it’s very good. That’s it.
SD1 seems jealous
Stay safe. Too many weirdos..
DD1 - not jealous, trust me.
SS1 so your hating on a person that likes his job or thinks the world of it?
DD1 no, more like hating on multiple people and an entire industry that thinks more than the world of themselves.
SD1 and what’s wrong with people being proud of what they do? I mean of course it’s not a save the world type of job. But to find something in this world that you like and love doing seems like a rare thing in this world.
DD1 you’re right, nothing wrong with it, and obvs I am not one of those lucky people (and moving on to an entirely different gig soon that I will hopefully like, if not love). But I gotta say this before I let it go: OP just wanted to know if everyone was safe. Two people from W + K responded. There is a big difference in the tone of those two responses. If you can spot what it is, you’ll know what annoyed me so much. Being proud of your work and being sanctimonious are not the same thing.
