Mustaches are sexy as hell.
Do. Not. Shave. It.
M here. I have had a mustache in consulting and frankly I don’t think it has ever mattered. Clients care about the quality of work and overall professionalism. Just make sure your stache and any other facial hair is properly trimmed and groomed. Gotta rock that professional look at all times.
Some pretty bad advice coming out here.
If you look like this you can get away with it, but for us uglies, probably not worth the attempt
MARGHERITI!

Who cares? If you made it to where you’re at then what does it matter, and what you do on your own accord is your own business.
Sir mittens pulls it off effortlessly when engaging clients and you can too. Just keep it neat and tide OP

Who cares?? Wear the mustache!
What illegal things are associated with mustache ownership? There’s only one mustache I can think of, but people already don’t use the style due to the association.
Illegal as in what? Invading Poland?
Mustaches are high risk, low reward. 95% chance a mustache is not flattering for your face. Few people look good in a mustache, and of those, most would look better without one.
If you’re a woman with a prominent mustache, I’d be concerned.

The 70’s stache is making a comeback
Yup. Gotta say thank you to Ted Lasso / Jason Sudeikis

Know your client
Know thy self. Clients come and go. I won’t be bothered to grow or shave my stache every 3 months or so based on what my client likes. And that’s not the client I would like to work with anyways.
As long as it’s not some insane handlebar mustache you do you!
Go with a goatee instead.

Only if you have a 1920s mustache and plan to tie a woman to them railroad tracks. Otherwise- not worth keeping it.
I mean it really depends, I tried to grow a beard and I looked like a disheveled drunk, but I have friends who can really pull off the look and look extremely professional. I mean if you look like Sam Elliot, or Henry Cavill with a mustache great! If you look like you might do alternative movies or a villain from a bond movie , try the full beard.
When I was a SM I had a mustache and didn’t feel like it held me back in any way. It’s definitely more common in large urban centers like NYC where I am.
I never had anything but nice comments on it in my local office or with clients in NY metro. But when I traveled to the Midwest, Texas or rural areas, boy did folks have strong opinions about it.
I think the unfortunate answer is that “it depends” on how uptight your firm, locale and industry vertical are. Just look at the misguided responses you’re getting on this thread for a taste of the variation…
Hard to believe some people would think that something as natural and basic as a mustache could make or break someone's career. This is so backwards.
