Is it weird for a building not to include heat/hot water in rent? They say it’s because the apartment has its own heat tank & it’s own control over the heat. Is that a sensible justification/to be expected?

I think that as long as the utility can be measured independently from other units than they can have the tenant pay.

I pay for my own heat, hot water covered by the building.

You may want to ask to see the last 3 months bills or something just to get an idea of what you can expect make sure there are no surprises or a gas leak you're paying for or something.

I thought in nyc they’re supposed to pay for heat/hot water

Any true solos that do both transactional and litigation? I’ve only done real estate transactional work at firms and want to open shop doing primarily that but my interest has always been in litigation. Don’t know the first thing about it but wondering if I can work at a small litigation spot for a few months just to understand procedure then go out on my own and do both real estate and litigate. Thoughts?

Can someone shed insight on what is a good salary range for an EA (me) who supports CEO, COO, Legal Counsel (1 person) and HR Director. And also serve as office manager - handle all the logistics of managing inventory for office supplies, kitchen ( coffee, etc) as well as any issues that may come up- a/c issues, issues with cleaning staff, building issues etc. also handle travel bookings for all the company- this alone is a FT job. The travel got added 3 months after I started. TY.

Yes, I said I would get a cab but it’s also after midnight, freezing cold, I’m tipsy, in heels, etc.

I don’t care if I split a bill but for god’s sake, ensure your date gets in a car home. Even if you aren’t calling her again or whatever, wait for the freaking cab with them.

End rant.

Or if small claims court, going through city agency, etc. are options? Thanks!
