seems they are looking to get your imput vs them just telling you something?
Or they are realizing that the next generation of workers entering the field have a different set of values from those who started the firm 60 years ago. I see this as a good thing, means the firm is wanting to make positive change to make a better work environment/culture. Wish more firms would do this actually.

Company values are whatever pays lip service to millenial and now gen z employees who want to feel "meaning" in their work.
The partners just want stable workforce that helps them churn out successful engagements and consistent work.
