Hello, I recently stopped pursuing a PhD degree and am looking to start a consulting career. I'm seeking an entry level position in strategy/analytics or business transformation. I did my undergrad and masters in top 10, but don't have much professional experience yet. It seems like I'm quite late to the game at this point and have limited access to recruiting info. Any advice on best ways to at least get interviews? Or, anyone willing to offer referrals?
Interviewing at the big D. How likely is the risk it gets back to my current network at K?
Question- Do larger firms look at coming from a local firm (8 YE- same firm, Supervisor, CPA, MS, work 2600-2700 py, no promotion ever- must be on ptr track) as a negative? Or is it a red flag that I am not a mgr (I do manage clients..)? In sum- I interviewed at 3 ntl (5-12) firms. One capped "sr" salary at XX. One offered M1. I make >10K more at current firm. Salary offers were <. I'm curious from a recruiting standpoint. Maybe I should have left for DT/RSM/And in '15.
Down because I got some upsetting (work-related) news yesterday. I was up for promotion and did not get it, basically for my actual job that I have been acting in for over a year. I had perfect reviews and perfect on the technical portion of the interview. Apparently they dinged me on something subjective relating to situational competencies. Colleagues—who I trained and mentored—did receive promotion and we will all be working at the same job, just them at higher level and pay. Contd.
Anyone interviewing with McKinsey and/or BCG? I'm looking for regular case (and fit) practice partners over the next 2-4 weeks.
Been a Big4 director (technology) for 1 year and was offered just a FAANG role as an EM (I like to interview every now and again to see what the options are). Offer is financially better than my current role and hours seem way better than Big4 hours, but I am not sure I would learn as much as I have been learning as a director. Anyone on here been through the same transition?

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Interviewing at McKinsey & Company and recruiter informed me I’d be based out of “North America” and can work in any city where there’s a McK office. I’ve seen several posts here about people being assigned to a home office, even if working remotely most of the time. Curious if this more general assignment is new?
Is it ok to tell a company that you worked for them if you are in an interview and you work for them and they ask who you work for when you work for them? Any advice would be appreciated
Just finished my last interview after a total of 4 interviews going over 6 hours…. I should hear back my end of day. Prayers for good things.
Feel like I’ve been ghosted by 3 companies after various rounds of interviews with each. Is this normal ?? Do they all talk ? Of them are really related in what they do
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
I applied to be a Mentor Teacher on my campus, and interviews are this Friday. What sort of questions should I be prepared for? ANY advice would honestly be helpful. Thanks!
Has anyone ever heard of someone living in Asia while continuing to work remotely for an American company that’s based entirely in the US? I know someone who is being allowed to work from Asia for 3 months during this pandemic. I’d love to live in Asia long term. Wondering if remote work could include worldwide.

I have Amex points on corp card and need to buy a long haul flight. It looks like it’s best to use them by booking travel through Amex but I’m confused about the bit that says I’ll get a statement credit when I pay with points. Does that mean I’ll then have to spend more on the card to get rid of the credit?
