Is it worth being leveled down to join FAANG? currently an SFA on a path to manager in another 12-18 months at mid tier F500. Worth it to be down leveled to FA level (financial analyst) to have Meta, Amazon Etc on your resume?

If the pay is higher, sure.

And even you plan to exit, simply use a classic resume formatting alignment.

Job 1 financial analyst (year 1-3)
Job 2 financial analyst (year 4-5)
Job 3 financial analyst (year 5-9)

You don't have to use the official job title, if you instead use a standardized title and state the number of years worked.

My father is now a VP at a F100, and his resume used this format throughout his career. It's totally normal.

This method also helps headhunters/recruiters find you, and saves them lots of time in their efforts to clearly determine YOE.

I’ve heard FAANG promote slower than non FAANG. But usually the pay makes up for it. And having FAANG on your resume allows you to jump to start ups or other tech firms for big raises. So yes I’d go for it. Just make sure the pay is more than you make now.

Stay in good terms with the FAANG recruiters get the manager position in 1.5 years and then go for faang. If it’s not literally guaranteed yes it’s worth it to leave. FAANG, GS, McKinsey, Carlisle, JP…. Basically the Stanford/Wharton of the experience world (not including successful startups). So recruiters will syd (or syc) post the aforementioned

Do you have any words of advice on how to manage the interview process with recent work under NDA?

I’m thinking about hanging in here for another year or two but then starting to look to lateral. Would love to work for this company if a position is available at that time.

I’ve worked as a Paralegal at a large law firm since graduating law school because I was waiting to take the UBE exam in Ohio and wanted the experience of a large firm and gain hands-on legal experience. I complete traditional Paralegal tasks, but many first-year associate tasks due to my “advanced skill set.” Today, I received glowing reviews at my year-end review, but when discussing my goals I was told that I couldn’t transition into an attorney role because “large law firms don’t do that.” 😞
