This seems awesome from not just the money savings but also for your kids getting to spend so much time with Gpa. The drive will suck but maybe he can drive to meet you partway sometimes?

This sounds amazing. Grandparent time for your kids, saving money and he has an office you could work out of! Only two days a week, absolutely worth it. I’d give anything to live close to my parents so my kids could see them more than 4x a year.

like

Can you pay someone to do the drive?

like

Is it a safe drive? I did this for some time with an infant but felt uncomfortable getting on a very busy highway 2x a day during rush hour, made it not worthwhile. Otherwise, I think it’s a good idea - you have a change of scenery and spend more time with family.

And also, is it safe for your dad w/ COVID?

It’s worth a shot. Try it out to see how it works but be prepared to change course if it’s not working out

I don’t know, only you and your husband can determine if 4 hour car ride is worth 500 in savings.

Good idea

This is a sweet gig! Definitely try it out and if it doesn’t work for you then no harm you gave it a shot!
