Is it worth it being an individual consultant as a sub to a contractor? You are paid by the hour but benefits etc all need to self fund... is it worth the risk?

Fellow gay fish. Thoughts on a PPO v HDHP (w/ HSA) for health insurance? I’ve always done the PPO with higher premiums because the high deductible scares me, especially with 4+ visits to PCP and lab draws, plus other STI testing. Does anyone else hate medical coding? I got my CPC and loved learned all about it! But once I started actually working in it, I hate it. They talk about how it’s all about translating procedures to numbers. But it’s not! It’s all about Money. All about how much RVUs the codes have so the provider gets the most reimbursement. With how everything is now a days, I feel like a bad person after a day of work. Just me? Was it just a bad employer that I worked for? I feel lost.
