Does anyone know of good spouse material for me so I can go this route?
Just here for the benefits, my dude.
If you’re talking about financially, you account the cost of benefits into your rate. So in a sense, there is no “risk”.
But you are a contractor and some people may find it to have instability they aren’t willing to take on.
Different strokes for different folks.
Everyone I know who went the independent contractor route rarely have regrets about it. It also helps if your spouse has a corporate job and take care of health insurance, etc. you can easily make 200-300k based on your skills and experience. But if you are not good at networking or building good relationships with clients, I would not go into it.
Yeah I guess if spouse can cover health insurance then the biggest concern is covered.
