Is it worth returning to school for a 1 yr or part time MBA to get into VC/PE, further my career, and expand my network? I have 6 years of consulting experience (big 4 and boutique) and a MPH from a top program already...

I also have an MPH and am interested in healthcare-VC long-term. I begin a part-time VC fellowship next month that has really great FTE placement after. I’d be happy to tell you more about it - DM me! The fellowship program recruits every quarter.

For sure!

I heard it’s pretty hard to exit into PE from MBA esp if you lack the experience prior. 1 year or PT would give you no internship exp either

like

I would question the network effect you are going to get from a 1 year part time MBA. You would also be sacrificing your internship that could create leverage with VC or PE. I would attempt to recruit directly now and attempt to create a pipeline. Might require you to quit job and do lower pay intern type role before getting FTe offer. Depending on your tenure and position at PE VC firm the barrier to hire can be high

I am more interested in the international MBA such as INSEAD, LBS, and Oxford. I think it would help the network for sure. Thx for the advice on breaking into VC/PE

I wouldn’t do a part-time MBA. PE / VC tend to focus on top tier MBAs, and typically don’t recruit from part-time as actively. I recommend trying to do it on your own through network, and if that doesn’t work focus on a strong MBA application

Hey everyone. I’m currently working in public interest & making about 60k. My job gives me retirement & health insurance. I’m also in the loan forgiveness program. An opportunity to go into private law for 60-70k WITHOUT insurance or retirement has arisen. It’s potentially a partnership track & I was told that it could be “worthwhile for me to take a risk” and go into private. I wanted to gauge what those in private practice thought. It’s a small firm. Would the switch be worth it overall?

Hi all, new to fishbowl. I am currently a PTA working in homecare. I am considering changing career paths to non-clinical. I live in Dayton, OH. I would love some insight or feedback. I also see Gpac recruiting popping up, is this a reputable co? Ty!

I'm a SWE from Italy. Love my country but salary and taxes here are outrageous. Got 2yrs experience in fullstack and data science, 2masters, a peer reviewed paper and outperform all my peers for 24k€ a year.
I'm thinkin about landing a remote SWE job (leetcoding and building a portfolio this summer).
Have you got some advice? Is it possible to work for US remotely without visa? What other countries pay well? Is it possible to land a 100k$+ with this kind of experience and working from Italy?
