Is it worth switching from DT to KPMG for a 25% bump (going from C to SA)? KPMG Deloitte

I think it will be a good switch since there is very less probability that D would give you a 25% bump with this year, even after Dan made it sound as if we were going to be receiving heck lot of bonus.

One question here.. when would KPMG year end salary increases be next and would you be eligible? What has me teetering on an offer right now is that at current day it’s a 20% increase in salary but come June, based on personal and firm performance, if both are high would the YoY raise be comparable to 20% in a non promotion year?

I think it’s different this year specifically: but for M and SA, most people fall between 5-10% for bonus/VC

Seems like KPMG has been the move lately for salary bumps. Despite all the jokes about them 😂

likefunny

Totally is, a lot of movement. All my pals are getting DMs from recruiters including myself.

Can confirm. At KPMG. We do bumps

Why not - go get the title and pay increase and if you don’t like after a year bounce back.

Tons of opportunity right now at KPMG. We were overly conservative on hiring / plan last year and are getting crushed staffing-wise.

I’m switching to KPMG for a bump myself

Same and the hope of a better culture

C and SA are equivalent levels between D and KPMG, but either case 25% bump is no brainer

likesmart

Lol SA is not the equivalent of C or some how lower than SC. It’s the same level as SC, aka the step below Manager.

Yes, generally better culture at KPMG

I went from kpmg to deloitte and it boggles my mind that levels are this hard for you guys to figure out. 1 yoe D = Analyst k = Associate 3 yoe D = C k = SA 5 yoe D = SC k = SA 7 yoe D = M k = M Ive seen people in kpmg management consulting get promoted to Manager after 4 years from campus, however, which is virtually unheard of at D. That said, those managers were all grossly underperforming.

like

I like D roles more, right now A to SA to M sometimes feels like is missing a step in the middle, and our younger/less experienced Ms struggle a bit In EY is C to SC to M, but I feel there should be something between SC and M that reflects some S3 years where you get to manage not so complex projects... like idk Associate Manager or Junior Executive or something like that.

Trust the KPMG Kool Aid is pretty good 🤣

Cash is King. Execute accordingly.

like

That’s a lot go for it if there aren’t any other factors to consider.

I did a few years ago. Good experience at both firms. Take the money. Unless you’re sure that you’ll get promoted this year - then stick it out

Yes, I would absolutely make the jump

Yes for sure. Switching to Uncle D myself for a bump.

I did it for 60%

Would you say you were underpaid or now overpaid?

Does this mean A at Kpmg to C at deloitte is a lateral move? Most SC positions I saw for deloitte were for MBAs

K5 correct

What month is promotion month at different firms?

Hi ladies. I need some advice. I'm currently out on maternity leave, to return in about a month. I was just informed my male counterpart in my department will be getting a promotion by our new boss. This is really a slap in the face considering I've been trying to fight for equal pay since last year when I found out another (former) male counterpart of mine was making 40k more than me. What would you do in my situation? Demand to know why I wasn't considered? Leave?

I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
