If that’s wrong I don’t want to be right
Not at all in my opinion. Parental leave is time for the family and you use it in the way it benefits your family - travel, time with spouse, time with baby etc. Don’t see any issue. Have fun!
You do you
Idk have you ever been asked to work while on PTO
It’s not morally wrong, but as a mom I can’t imagine being gone for a whole week from my baby during parental leave time (first 4-6 months). And I don’t mean that in a judgy way as I travel weekly for work and have three kids and have done week long adult only vacations but during the first 5-6 months I can’t imagine being gone for more than an overnight. Part of it is the logistics of pumping and the other part is just the maternal guilt of being away from your little one at such a young age.
Thank you A2. BCG1 - I was trying to provide an alternate view. While it’a totally up to OP to decide what is right for them and there’s absolutely nothing morally wrong with it, it’s also tough to realize how tough it can be emotionally to be gone that long when they’re so little.
Do your thang. No rules against having fun during parental leave — just bond with your family
I am a partner: enjoy your time as you see fit
Parental leave is for you and your family to adjust to being parents. How you do it is your business
Parental leave is for family time. I absolutely think you should take time with your spouse
Totally fine. Happy parents = happy healthy baby.
And to clarify, we’d be traveling for only a week, not for the entire course of the leave.
Huh?
