Is IT/Enterprise SWE a dead end? Going through a self reflection moment.. it seems like IT doesn’t offer any problems that require cutting edge solutions to solve. Distributed? Scaling?. Rust? Why? Is IT something to avoid if one is still growing their careers? Or am I just being closed minded?

I’m an attorney trying to learn about finance and economics. I didn’t take any economics courses in college and don’t have any experience in that area. What books or other resources would you recommend for a beginner? I’m not looking for investment guides.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I got my job via a series of lucky coincidences. I am a former art student who winded up working for the print production dept of a major media company in what was supposed to be a weeklong gig, and then ended up as a data analyst in the same org.

When I think of what I would be passionate for, I think of a creative field, like fashion, even if I was a similar, administrative role. I’m not sure there’s room to grow here.
