If you join in the middle of the year, does your utilization get adjusted? If so, when does it show up on Staffit? I've been here since may and have been utilized since day 3, yet TOD shows me at 58%
I've been in the world of consulting for several years; amazed at how much more analysts and others feel the need to be constantly utilized. Seeing posts about how holidays impact the metric (cont'd)
Consulting firms, how does your company use utilization as a performance metric? And what are your targets (e.g, Junior practitioners vs senior)
The consulting services teams of big tech (Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, etc) seem like obvious entry points for consultants due to relevant experience, but they get little attention here. Why is that? Do those roles lack good pay, advancement opportunities or better WLB vs working for a consultancy? Do they have the same focus on firm initiatives, utilization and BD/sales as consulting firms?
Dammit...45 mins and still trying to submit time in Mercury ...Gold Rating to developers
My specialty group is so dead my utilization is 18.7%. I've reached out to dozens of people and no one has work for me. Been here 8 months. I want to shoot myself for not taking the PwC offer.
Any other Deloitte folks get screwed in their year end rating because of low utilization since there were so few projects to be had earlier this year? Manager openly said it was "beyond my control".
Never been on the bench. Always been 90+% utilization rate. Can I just be on the bench so I can study for CPA 🤣😭
GT NY Folks- Tax A1 here, any insight on round tables for first year’s? People have said they generally never fire A1’s, is that true? Utilization is low so a little concerned.
At PwC(S&) are evaluations (career roundtables) driven primarily by utilization? How much do reinvest and snapshots play?
Serious question: how do you "become" a top performer in a company? I get why some are viewed as rock stars or go-getters, but not how they do it or drum up the top-level support for it. Whenever I press to kickstart initiatives or push in a certain direction, the leadership is never interested in the actions or ideas. Instead, we just get told to bill hours and keep our utilization high. It's demoralizing how there is no support or interest in people that try to develop new areas or initiatives
When does fy18 utilization start? May or July?
Expecting in few months and have the option to opt out of performance eval this yr.Have really low/negligible utilization, I did everything I could but could not get staffed. How will this affect me?
Deloitte be like: Your safety is our #1 priority.....but so is utilization becau$e year end is around the corner
My utilization is below 60 percent and it's majority of internal projects and trainings but have good snapshots(reviews) should I still be concerned ?
Does D still penalize you for taking PTO? Did they change it recently? What is the utilization target for D Ms? How many days can you carry over to next year?
Has anyone seen the Medicare telehealth stats? I was staggered by how much their utilization of telehealth grew!
Biggest fake health foods that people eat (esp. regarding weight loss?) A few: nuts, granola... what else?
Looking at exit opportunities and job description says Big 4 experience in addition to helping prepare FS and helping prepare tax forms. I mean in Big 4 you're either in audit or tax.
Looking at exit strategies. I️ know there isn’t much money in public sector but what about defense contracting?
Very weird watching a presidential candidate explain/defend management consulting in a NYT interview. Even some questions about federal contractors! Maybe people will stop asking what my job “means”
How long does it typically take until a recruiter reaches out to schedule an initial phone screening (it they reach out) after you submit your online application at McKinsey? Applied for a general entry level role - experienced hire
Would you have gone into consulting after your MBA if you already had pre-mba experience? Why or why not?
I have an interview for a senior associate role at an investment firm. However, I believe I am under qualified based of my YOE (1.5) because they are asking for a minimum of 3. Should I mention I am open to an associate role, or try to sell myself for the senior role? Thanks for the help!
Starwood SPG or Marriot rewards - I have 100K in MR and 150k in SPG. I have not merged the two. is it better to convert SPG into MR or vica versa? Thanks.
Anyone willing to share experiences on what's it like working for Doordash strategy? How is the working environment, culture, etc?
Has anyone else in NY had an offer significantly delayed? I was told by my EY recruiter that it would take some time for me to receive an official verbal and written offer due to a new background check law for NYC residents. I’m a little worried something else is going on in the background and my offer will go to someone else. Am I worrying too much? Thanks!
Need some career advice: how do i switch to industry? Yoe: 7 yrs in consulting Skillsets: data warehousing, informatica, oracle/sql, excel, business analysis, SDLC, agile Interest area: nothing specific unfortunately, slightly inclined towards front end design but not sure Tired of being a generalist and feel very under confident. Delta now the last airline to fly Mad Dogs... these srsly need to go already. Loud, dingy, no IFE, loud, small overhead bins, loud, and way too loud. Love DL but hate these so much.
Started CloudGoat this weekend to learn Cloud-based pentesting for interviews and really enjoying it. Does anyone have other labs they'd recommend for learning Cloud pentesting? Happy to take Azure and AWS security courses through my firm to learn the back end of it all as well.
Imagine if this virus hit thirty years ago. If it wasn't for the internet, allowing WFH and communications, the economy would basically collapse. It could be alot worse.
What are things I should do or upskill so I can position myself from working on mostly tech implementations to proper CIO Advisory type work (e.g. Tranformation projects)? I feel stuck.
The teacher next door classes are too loud‚ they do not have any classroom management skills and it is affecting my class.
Fresh hire - still in probation - but have just been headhunted for a role at a large video games company. Pay matching. Role looks way more interesting and culture is much more chilled but isn’t Amazon. Take it or stay? How much does Amazon really accelerate your career?
