I actually think you should milk over it. Thats when my best decisions are made
You either need to leave after a year or wait for 5. Companies usually are looking for those they can train from the ground up or those with enough experience to bring something to the table
Disagree G1; think it’s more like 2 years v. 5 - exiting into industry manager vs. director. I think 1 is fine if you’re already experienced in the industry you’re exiting in and have a strong case for it, otherwise it’s a bit difficult.
Hence the 5 years, A1. Google values google experience. Most PMs are 30+, not 23 year olds, two years out of college
True G1. The only PMMs I know under 27 were ex consultants for Google. Well I guess Google is out as an immediate exit opp 😅
Nope. Trying to do the same.
Completely disagree with G1. It will just vary the amount of consulting cred you can claim. It’s hard to believe you’re comfortable doing anything after just one year in consulting, so it will be harder for you to lean on that experience to get the new job.
Go for it, it’s the right thing to do at this stage if you are drawn to it. You have to milk over it if you are more senior
Think over it, not milk.
G1 are thee even PM roles available for people with just 1 year of experience? Seems like all PM roles are at the manager level
You could join as an APMM or APM with under 3 years, but again, it’s like winning the lottery lol
