We have a trip to Miami planned in two weeks.
Just saw that Florida is averaging 20,000 cases day of mostly the delta variant. Super bummed as we’re both vaccinated and hopefully was going to get away, but looks like we may have to change plans. 😭

2) Algarve only
Could you give specific reasons why you chose one over another.

Been 8 days since on-site and no word the feedback should have been from just two folks...good or bad sign!?
I was just diagnosed with adhd. How do others cope with it, especially given our high pressure careers.... thinking about medicine but need to talk to my psychiatrist.
👋🏻 New mom here. I’m seeing a lot of comments about parents opting for “no sleepover” rules. Is this because of Covid, or is this a new thing? I went to sleepovers all the time as a kid and just wondering what reasons beyond a case-by-case basis would be to have this rule? Not judging, just genuinely curious.

Do you have to invite people from your office to your wedding? I work at a very small office with out 12 people total, including staff. The other associate here invited everyone in the office, and their significant others to her wedding. That's a lot of extra money I wasn't intending to spend for people I'm not particularly close to. Anyone else been in a similar situation?
Can any plaintiff side securities litigation associates speak to typical base and total comp? I understand it can vary quite a bit by year but would appreciate a general range.
How hard is it to start practicing in another jurisdiction? Big law is mostly federal anyways
Trying to lateral (third year) from general corporate boutique to mid/big law. After great interviews was turned down by two firms citing that they wanted more pointed experience. Any advice? I’m getting the interviews, the interviewers really like me, but I need to sell my general corporate experience better. Help!
Working for a small PI firm (5 attorneys) in a satellite office trying to generate more revenue. The office has been here for a decade but never really made use of advertising. I’m attending as many networking events as I can and have joined several networking groups. Any advice for more exposure without becoming a billboard attorney?
Why are plaintiffs or defense / plaintiffs firms so much smaller than pure corporate defense?

A little levity in these times goes a long way. Seeing as COVID-19 has started a renaissance on the term, what is your best/worst/most ridiculous force majeure story or case?
Is it a wise career decision to go from a national firm to a local but strong firm? Practiced with the national firm for a year and a half. The firms are the same type of law, but the smaller firm has less billable requirements and is offering higher salary/better bonus structure as well as more independence such as ability to completely run own case load.
US Attorneys: what questions do you wish you would’ve asked before starting? Did anyone transfer from BL? How was the transition? What is the work load like? Would appreciate any insights!
I joined fishbowl a month ago and while I’ve seen a couple contentious debates but I must say I’m pleasantly surprised at how respectfully ppl comment on this app even when disagreeing. Usually anonymity on the internet brings out the absolute worst in ppl; they type things anonymously that they would NEVER say in person smh. But I really haven’t seen horrible comments here. I wonder what makes this app diff frm others?
When interviewing for jobs (by zoom), what reasons have you given that you'll be "away from your desk" for a few hours?
LinkedIn has the option to show recruiters that you’re open to jobs, but I’m hesitant to turn on that option bc I’m worried someone from my firm will see it (it says they try to avoid that but can’t guarantee). Has anyone had that experience or is it generally safe?
Best advice you received for building relationships with leadership/gaining supporters after a lateral move?
So are torrid, spicy affairs limited to mid/big law? Is small law too small for scandals?
Anyone has decision paralysis when deciding whether to take a job offer? I'm a senior associate and got a job offer to move in house for the type of job I want at the type of company I want to work at. However, the benefits are bad (e.g., no paid maternity leave, etc.), so it probably would not be a forever job. Don't want to miss out on breaking into an in house role, but also don't want to have to find another job in a couple of years just to have paid maternity leave.
Parents: how soon after your spouse giving birth and your baby coming home would you consider lateraling to biglaw? Consider for this that you only get a few weeks of paternity leave.
Anyone here do securities litigation, plaintiffs or defense? I have an interest in the practice area and want to learn more about it. Thanks!
