I do like the work..but I know I’ll be paid atleast 35K more if I leave..and not sure if the next promotion will happen sooner than 3 years..leave or stay? Don’t have much partner or leadership support but not in a bad book as well
If I am being marketed in proposals as a senior and being referred to on engagements as “our senior staff” but I am only a staff, can I use this to leverage an early promotion to senior?
I am a senior ETL developer and I make 130K cad. I want to increase my income. In most companies I see that they pay the same for senior data engineers or data architects. What are the companies or roles should I target in order to raise my income? (PS - I am not interested in non technical or consulting roles)
Can someone explain the differences between T2 firms and Big4. I am new to consulting an confused. What are the major differences in the types of work they do in gov/public services? Are there major cultural differences? Are there major differences in pay and promotion progression? TIA
In my first year as an audit associate I got rated bottom bucket in every category. I think this traumatized me. I have since jumped firms and constantly get great reviews. Even got a mid year promotion one year. But I can’t help but think I’m on the verge of being fired.
After a month of having to constantly ask about my onboarding, I finally was able to join. Now, it's been two weeks and no one seems to know how I get my laptop. With the support number I get an automated response of some mail I should have got which never came. I raise a ticket and they close it saying talk to the manager or onboarding advisor. There is no onboarding advisor and my manager asks me to go back to support. So, did I do something to offend the gods or is this hassle expected?
At a boutique firm for just over a year, I know this isn’t the best place for my growth, but a promotion is coming. Am I better of sticking around or try to go to MBB or big 4 at an associate level?
I currently work at a big start up and made a lateral move to another team a few months ago with five years experience. Since then , I’ve created a whole new service line and took over many of my managers duties. As I took a paycut to join this team - I’m pushing for a raise and title change. Is this reasonable?
Started new job at a non-F500 (CorpDev) this week (got offered +45% over my previous base). Received an offer today from EY, which is +35% over my current base. I kinda like the CorpDev gig more and have very little motivation to join EY (that particular team). Can I still use their offer to pump up my current base here at the non-F500? How can I ask for a raise and not set wrong impression so early on?
My one year at first out of college job is coming up, despite conditions - should I still ask for a raise and a formal virtual performance review. (It is a small firm and they will avoid it if I don’t bring it up). The firm has been making the same if not more profits than they usually would. Thanks!
Let's talk salary. I'm up for a raise soon and I'm at 43,000 a year. Anyone have any advice on what I should ask for?
I am currently a staff 2 in Audit, CPA, expecting the promotion in October this year. What role will I get if I switch to a different big 4, was hoping to switch to Deloitte or PWC.
Switch to another consulting firm for 20-25% raise + bonus but same level (manager) or wait for promotion at EY this year but still less money. Doesn't look like EY will match the competing offer.
In addition to my day to day project, do you think it’s valuable to raise my hand for an ops due diligence? Is it a valuable learning opp that’s worth the added grind? TIA?
What are some specific action items you do when you’re aiming for a promotion for your next promotion cycle? I understand review cycles/processes vary by firm but is there anything you do that is more widely applicable? Such as documenting the work you completed and the resulting achievements weekly, etc.
Today I got a raise that was larger than my mother's yearly salary. gave me a strange feeling.
What is average raise for a senior in Mid West area during a non promotion year. If you can specify senior 1, 2 or 3 along with percent raise that would helpful.
I am an expert path associate at McKinsey with 1.5 YOE + 6 YOE prior to McK. Expected 2022 TC = 200k base + 50-70k bonus. How should I position myself for (Sr) Director level jobs given my current tenure? I want to test the job market right now, but it seems like recruiters are reaching out for Sr Manager jobs with significantly less TC than what I’m making. Any tips on specific themes or types of experiences I should highlight for those positions would be greatly appreciated!

I am in public accounting and I got pulled into the Audit department to help out. I didn't have much of an option because there was no project available and I needed to get billable hours (I am under Acct and Fince Consulting). The problem now is I've completed my work and I am still not billing as I had hoped. I was informed there's plenty of work, but not seeing it. Am I missing something here? I haven't been informed I am not doing my job properly.
