Kkr capstone principal - is this a good gig coming from mbb at AP level? Seems like a no brainer given you get buyside experience, autonomy, c-suite exp and upside of investing in your deals but a lot of the negative comments seem charged and hard to measure. What am I missing?

Hi everyone, I recently accepted an offer at McKinsey (college hire BA). Can anyone tell me what the typical pay progression is? 2nd and 3rd year BAs, then first year EM? If I have a Master’s, would it be worth it to go get an MBA once I’m eligible? Do you think not having one will hinder me as I progress/if I decide to exit to industry? I’ve also seen it mentioned that McKinsey has been cutting back on some of the perks, could anyone go into further detail please? Thank you

Starting to look at job opportunities and was wondering if anyone would be willing to help with referrals for consulting/tech (facebook, salesforce, etc) roles. Took a 6 month hiatus to try to start my own venture. While that venture wasn’t successful learned a lot along the way. I previously maxed out my traditional 401k
I have about 40k

Once I learned more about retirement, I then stopped contributing to traditional 401k and started maxing out my Roth 401k
I have about 60k

I have about 25k of matched contributions

This is where I get fuzzy
-Should I/can I call the broker to roll over my traditional 401k to my Roth 401k (or do I need to open a separate Roth IRA and have them roll it into this?)

When I ask my manager for advice about how to do something, he usually just tells me I'll "figure it out yourself." But when it comes down to it, he doesn't help me at all by doing that—he just makes me feel like an idiot. I over-contributed to my Roth IRA by $6k, with earnings of ~$2k on that $6k since contribution in early 2021.

What’s the best strategy here? Is it possible to withdraw the $6k contribution and recharacterize just the earnings to a traditional IRA to avoid the 10% early withdrawal and income tax?

I’m a sponsored MBA student with option to come back to my firm (Tier 2) at Manager/Project Leader level, but I’ve also received full time offer for MBB at post-MBA level (lower TC by >50K plus need to cover 80K USD for MBA). I may want to stay in consulting long-term, but also open to switching to tech at some point. Is there a strong reason to switch to MBB now, or does it make sense to work in my current firm for 2 years and then make lateral move to MBB at a more senior level?
