Roth IRA isn’t tax deductible, right? So what matters is that you just want extra time to max out your Roth IRA for the year? Or am I missing something here.

How much are we talking? Like, all of it? Nobody knows what’ll happen between now. A good approach is divide the eligible amount by number of weeks until tax day.

In that case would do a weekly contribution. The next few weeks will likely be a roller coaster. Dollar cost average by doing weekly contributions.

$500/mo or $100/wk (plus $800 at your discretion) seems like the safest bet with this volatility, plus helps keep expenses consistent for budgeting purposes. I used to do it the following spring but that is not the best approach.

Ah, yes.

Why not fund the whole thing now so you don’t miss the opportunity and invest it as you see fit (maybe dollar cost averaging if you are worried).

Does it really matter in terms of tax timing, it’s a Roth IRA correct?

They have until tax day to contribute, so that’s relevant.

I am not allowed to buy individual stocks, only ETFs (can’t be tech only either as I cover that industry) - any investment advice?
