Hi i lost majority of my money in the stock market. I married and promised my family that I will not make the mistake I made 7 years ago. Gambling. Is this an addiction I have. I keep selling stocks and taking loses buying other stock hoping it will recover but never did and sell again taking loses and buy again. It now sink in to me. When you are long options and positive, is there a % you always sell?

I scaled into SPY calls for September on the 18th and they are up about 130%. I always cut at 50% no matter what because I don’t want to be too greedy.

Nothing has spooked me into changing my mind on the trade or I’d be out, so the decision to cut winning positions is always an internal conflict of me just wanting to get it in the boat.

I found a great great home near family perfect location to things, decent size, but is expensive. I don’t have $120k to just drop for the down payment (I want to have money left to furnish or just spend) my salary is under 6figs and even if it wasn’t I feel like it’s still not enough to rack up $60k within 1ish year.
