If you want to be an entrepreneur eventually, you should do it now
Interested as well, when I interviewed with the Insight Onsite team they seemed to imply that would be an option

Why not just start a company now? Any particular area you are interested in?
I had a prof at Columbia that started a semiconductor company that netted him over $100m over its lifespan. He's retired, but teaches a "business for engineers" class without pay at the engineering school.
When he started the business, he was a professor at the engineering school. They offered him a part time teaching position so he could come back if it didn't work out. He declined and burned the bridge so that he wouldn't have a bridge to retreat across if things got really hard and he felt he wanted to quit. He didn't quit and stayed in business for 20+ years.
My dad was an electrician that had a really good reputation with lots of businesses and calculated that he could net $300k+/year if he started his own contracting firm. He got his license, saved tons of money and when he was looking at healthcare options for when he quit, my Mom developed breast cancer.
Suddenly spooked about the implications of taking such a risk with a family to support, he dropped it. He told me "anon McK, if you're going to take a big risk, do it before you have a family." I give that same advice to you internet stranger. Do it now or it's not going to happen.
Yes, if the PE firm makes primarily growth investments
You def will have the fast-paced environment so that works!
