Is Peloton really worth it? How many people lost weight using this? Would you recommend? I need to loose so much weight ( baby weight ). This WFH is not helping 🤯😳

I love spin in general and LOVE Peloton. I lost a good amount of weight quickly then like any workout, plateaued/lost slowly. Peloton has interval classes that have 2-3 weights sections instead of the normal 1 3-minute section if you’d like a bit more upper arms per workout. Peloton also has a wide variety of workouts like strength, HIITs (cardio and dance), running, walking, yoga, meditation. You can mix it up! Cody Rigsby is my favorite spin instructor. If anyone has a good HIIT instructor on there I’d love a recommendation! I’m trying them all.

Start with your diet before investing money into any gimmicks If you can do something as small as eliminating all obvious refined added sugars from your daily diet, have 1 cheat day a week. You’ll notice significant improvements 1. It’ll be tough for a week.. then you’ll get used to it 2. You’ll be shocked at how sugar is a gateway calorie to other unnecessary calories 3. To fulfill your sweet cravings eat healthier alternatives like fruits, dates, etc Get that in order then invest in other gimmicks to accelerate your initial gains

Best looking clothes horse I've ever owned.

Worth every penny but you need to stop stuffing your pie hole to see results. Exercise alone won't cut it. Try a calorie tracking app like Lose It. Get the Peloton to accelerate it and keep you sane.

It's all about your motivation. The hardware and the classes are really good. Comparable (and even better sometimes) than what you would get in an in person class. Having said that it's all about you and how you're going to use it. I've had it for 3 months now and was lazy/too busy to use it as much as I would have liked.l but getting into a routine now and love it.

Worth every penny for sure. I love mine.

You’ll never lose weight by exercising. It’s all about proper diet and nutrition.

Yes! It’s a good point to make

I haven’t lost any weight (in fact gained as I’m pregnant with baby #2) but do a 30-60 min ride 5x a week to maintain cardio fitness. Absolutely love it - classes and instructors are awesome.

like

At the end of the day it’s a spin bike (let’s be honest people). If you’ve enjoyed spin classes in the past then yes this will help by way of doing an exercise you enjoy. You can get a fairly nice spin bike online for half the price or more, subscribe to the peloton app membership and have yourself the same ole experience. Then use the money you’ve saved towards another type of workout equipment and/or weights to diversify.

Right but that’s irrelevant. PM1’s question was about the metrics and overall experience. If he/she likes the competition (same way I do) then get the peloton. Will keep you accountable and will allow u to go head to head with people within the community. It’s part of what makes it so fun

We have one but neither my husband or I have lost weight on it.

Thanks

Completely echo others that 80% of the battle is diet. Peloton is great but it’s dependent on you to put in the time, and to actually give it a hard effort. As others have said you may burn 400-500 calories in a hard 45min class - which you can negate with one bad meal. But, as a part of a holistic program, it’s awesome

like

I got the diet part down. I count calories and I have a nutritionist given health issues. I just need to add activities into that bur cannot go to the gym because I have a baby.

I love my peloton! My husband is losing weight, and it’s helping me stay sane and healthy during pregnancy (I used it before pregnancy too, but focused on strength vs weight loss). I have also been using their strength and yoga classes more In quarantine and love it. I just passed the 1 year mark and have done 156 spin classes + 50 strength / yoga. Worth it to me!

Losing weight is 80% diet, 20% exercise. Stop eating so much. Literally, that’s the trick. Use an app to track what you eat. Exercise is for fitness, heart health and strength.

Peloton rocks! Had it 6 weeks and have lost a pound a week! I ride it almost every day!!

like

Love my Peloton! Got it mid Jan and am down 15lbs. More importantly, I feel much better. Ride it every single day. It was great before quarantine and it is essential during quarantine.

like

I have a peloton, I like the classes, I can tell that my fitness and cardiovascular health are improving. But... an hour of exercise 5x a week was not enough to make me lose weight. I eat more when I get a good workout. And that means that I really had to make mindful food choices to see any movement on the scale.

I would make sure you like spin before investing in a peloton. I’ve done it in hotel gyms and it really is just a spin bike in your living room. That’s great for some people, but it won’t magically make you like spin.

I know people who have great results with them but they typically go from doing classes to a Peloton at home. My wife wants one as a supplement to orange theory but space is more her issue.

You can buy packages of classes at hers

Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?

I’m frustrated that I’m always expected to do everything for our LO since I’m working from home. Five days a week, I do all the drop offs and pickups. When the baby is napping, I prep all her bottles and solids to pack with for daycare. Today, on top of everything else I had to take our dog to the vet. My husband hasn’t even offered to do anything because it’s easier for me to do it.

I’m in my 11th year at a boutique plaintiff’s firm. The name partner I work under is great in a lot of ways. I ln general it could be worse. But the guy is a baby. I’m certainly no slacker. In fact I’m excellent at my job. But the guy is obsessed with people being in the office before 9am. No matter what’s on/not on the calendar or what I’m doing personally. Today I got in at 9:12am and apparently he’d been ranting and raving over my whereabouts. When is it time to not answer to this crap?
