What are good classroom norms to estbalish with students at the beginning of the school year?
I don't know about you, but we are barred from our campus and don't have access to our rooms. What's something that you wish you would have remembered to bring home with you from your classroom?
What does writing about reading look like in your classroom? Do you grade students’ readers’ notebooks ?
My district is looking for suggestions on ways to modify our special ed program. Ours is making life hard for our general ed classrooms. Does your district have a model you would suggest?
Do you have classroom pets? Our science teachers hamsters keep having hamsters lol. This is like the 4th set!
We just started using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System in our programs to measure quality of interactions and lesson plans. I think it's been one of the most meaningful tools for providing feedback to teachers.
Homework... it’s my worst nightmare in the classroom. I have to give it but have flexibility in creating my own policy. Please share what you give, how you collect, and/or grade!! THANKS!
Has anyone had success with changing the lighting in your classroom? I'm thinking about replacing the use of overhead lighting with lamps.
I need to revamp my intervention plan for foul language in the classroom. I can’t believe what these middle schoolers are saying and how little admin. does about it.
My school is starting an emotional support classroom. What are some acronyms used for these classrooms? Ex. STARS students taking action and responsibility for success
Why do you feel like this year is so much harder than previous years? This year was supposed to be easier than last year and it’s not 😭 The only reason I can think of is we didn’t have enough time to rest after last year. The only solution I can come up with is giving teachers more time to get things done. What do you think the solutions are to fix this or what has your school already done? My school/district/admin is amazing and they’re wracking their brains to figure it out.
I have many goals as a teacher. One is to be more present in the classroom and stop multi- tasking. What are your goals?
I’m planning on leaving the classroom at the end of this school year and move to Germany. My parents are currently living there for one more year so I want to take advantage of the opportunity. I would like to enroll in a master’s program or continue work in some capacity—any advice or suggestions for working/studying abroad?
I bought two kindle fire tablets today. I want to use them in my classroom this year, specifically in my listening station (instead of the cassette+books) how do you use them in your classrooms?
Why do you teach? What gifts and talents do you bring to your classroom, your school, the profession?
ACN: Can charge to central training instead of pto if I'm going to take classroom training and certification?
Has anyone tried using a QR code for classroom sign out? Has it worked for you or just become a pain?
Thoughts on WFH.....
Roth or Trad 401K? $210K in yearly household income + 10% bonus (just wife and I, both 32y.o.). Take home pay is about $140K - includes 401K contributions and health benefits. Can't decide if Roth makes sense as I don't anticipate our retirement income will exceed current spending levels. I get the appeal of tax free withdrawals but at the expense of paying more up front. Any advice?
What's the internal job transfer protocol for PwC? Do I really have to contact my RL first before applying anywhere? I'd like to stay in the same office and don't really care about getting a higher salary. Just want to stay at PwC in a tax related role (which is what I'm in now, just more niche).
6am flight, mother trying to breast feeding her screaming child in the seat next to me before take off. Attendant approaches me, "sir, we have a seat open for you in 1D." 💸💎🍾🍻🍸😁👏🙌🏻👏🙌🏻👏💥
Pros and Cons of maxing out 401k contribution? I currently Max out, but have been considering lowering my contribution to get match so I have extra $ to invest in side. Yay? Nay?

How can one get off a project because the client is delaying system access along with wanting to shift up deliverable submission date? Is this even a legit reason to roll off?
Better exit opps: EG/VC & MA or benefits (no specific specialization; would try to stay generally well rounded)? Any other considerations? Torn between the two. Trying to make partner as well, so any considerations there would help (WLB, predictability, job safety, etc.)
Anyone take the VRE starting from Fredericksburg everyday? My husband and I like the town but wondering if this ride will be too exhausting. Will come off at Union, so no transfers.
Any producers who switched from agency to brand side? How has it been? And what company or city are you working from (assume no COVID/remote work)?
More of a leadership question - our concept of work is clearly changing, and I'm worried about remote work leading to an increase in burn out. How can leaders adapt to these new conditions?
What’s the role of a counsellor at EY GDS ?? Whom should I contact for location transfer ??
20 year road warrior here. My wife & I made it work through teamwork & commitment. My weekends were spent at home. Doing family things. I know a guy who (pre COVID) traveled every week, yet found time to do 200 mile weekend biking trips with his ‘crew’. Almost every weekend. His family vacations always seemed to include a 500 mile bike race or some other extreme event. He is now doing this in Europe (according to IG). How do spouses put up with that?
Big 4 offer: 65k Mid size (top 10) offer: 71k Would it be delusional if I accept the mid size offer?
Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?
How is the Deals Capital Projects team at PwC? I just got an invite for the video interview
I’ve really been having the urge to get out of consulting lately. I’m hesitant to leave Deloitte however Bc my husband and I plan to start a family in about 2 years and I know deloitte’s 16 week parental leave policy is rare in the marketplace. Mom’s - do you feel like it’s worth sticking around another 2ish years for the parental leave benefit? (FYI i am newly promoted to SC)
As a male mid-level/senior associate, can you take the full parental leave (10-14 weeks) and come out without impact on partnership prospects? What are questions I should be asking to get at this issue before accepting a lateral offer? Quiz recent junior partners with kids? Seems a bit aggressive but may be necessary.
