Consulting

Is Protiviti a respectable firm? A recruiter reached out to me from there. Wondering if it’s worth talking to them. A few of my friends said they are a joke but interested to hear from others...

Have a lot of friends that work there. Lot of SOX/IT audit work (aka Risk Advisory) but I like everyone I have met there and their WLB is better than the MBB/Tier2/Big4.

I believe they’re what’s left of the audit/assurance groups from Arthur Anderson If consulting is your long term plan, I’d stick with KPMG

Why do people care so much about ‘prestige’ paychecks are paychecks right? Protiviti still has a small company feel so you definitely have more flexibility and wlb but ultimately it depends on solution and office location.

Exits and bragging rights I suppose. If a person's life only involves working, then for many their job defines their self-esteem and worth.

It is respectable. Mostly focuses on Risk type offerings in mid-market. In all honesty, I wouldn’t put them that much lower than KPMG in those particular areas.

Lots of “data entry specialists.” Haha

I know a couple people who work in their consulting practice and they like their work. Better WLB / travel than many other firms. You’ll need to decide where you wanna fall within prestige, $, and WLB.

It’s a respectable place. Like others have posted they are mostly known for risk and reg work. If you like controls and audits go for it.
