Is PWC deals good? Would it be easy to jump to MBB after a few years at PWC deals? Or private equity?

Why does anyone think it is easy to jump to MBB? If it was wouldn't you just go there first?

Agreed with director 1

I’ve worked deals at BCG, PWC and KPMG and KPMG’s deals practice has far better deal flow than any of the others and much stronger PE relationships. I’ve seen many of juniors join as Associates or Sr. Associates and jump to PE as Associates after a few years rotating through FDD, CDD, ODD and valuations. Hard to compare with BCG since the type of work was different, but the deal flow is so minimal at BCG that you don’t get even 1/10th of the reps. PE firms want juniors that know the routine and that requires lots and lots of reps. On the MBB part of the question, very few jump from Big-4 to MBB without going back to a top tier B-school.

One way into PE is to get on the operations side or embed with a company. If you are a high performer you'll get a shot at other businesses in a senior capacity. I interviewed with some port cos and the pitch was something along the lines of, "if you make a positive impact we'll transfer you to more senior role elsewhere." Which is not a bad pitch and comp was good. They were looking for folks who had done cradle to grave execution and the hours werent bad. I stepped out of the process the port co wasn't that interesting to me, but it was still a cool opportunity.

I’m burnt out. Biglaw six years and got pushed out. Now at a midsize firm. I work more than I used to and getting paid 1/3 less. Work is not bad at all and the firm culture is great. What are the benefits of working at a small law firm (about 10 attorneys) as opposed to a midsize firm. What is the difference in the amount of work/ billable hours, benefits (health insurance and PTO), opening doors for future career opportunities, etc. I have an interview at a small law firm, which is not what I ideally wanted, but I am considering it because of the COVID uncertainties.
