Seeing more and more vacancies in Marina del Rey too
I’m in the marina too!
There’s probably some vacancies as landlords can evict again. But it will quickly rebound as LA has always been an extremely tight rental market.
What you are probably seeing right now is the normal seasonal drop from USC and UCLA students going home for the summer. Vacancies will drop again by August.
Outside of South Central all of the LA basin is “student housing area” and occupancy rates therein have a ripple affect across the rest of the city. Both schools have very wide socioeconomic bands, so their populations hit more evenly across rental housing price ranges than you would see in typical college towns.
This is great news! Hoping for more vacancies well into early 2023. We want to move asap!
