Note margins and revenue are two very different numbers folks
Volume as in 100 person SAP project generates the same revenue as a 40 person strategy or M&A project.
SAP is one of those tools hat will be there for the long run. Companies are investing in it now for the long term. Of course, the technology can and will become obsolete but SAP is very well aware of this and hence have taken necessary steps E.g: HANA, hybris
At Deloitte, yes.
Focusing more and more on Simple Finance
On volume, not margin.
@D2 - HC is a damn joke son. Remember a large SAP project will pick practitioners from advisory and HC to support it. SAP is one revenue generating machine and it will remain so. Oh and S&O, we got TS&A now who are ex-SAP service line aligned folks.
How is SAP Finance doing at Deloitte?
Exactly what I am dwelling into. Good to know it'll turn out to be a good transferable skill
Where will SAP be in 10 years? What about impact of cloud technologies rapidly outpacing them in most competitive arenas? I'm not about to join the Windows team circa 2002...
SAP is integrating with the cloud. HANA
Yes. Currently very poorly.
D6 with my teeth and claws lol. Networked my way into S&O owned projects that were doing assessments for new age cloud solutions such as Coupa (I was at D before). Did that for a couple of years, beefed up my PPT, sucked up the 3 ratings Bc I was working out of service line and be aware SAP partners will not be happy if you work a lot outside of SAP but eyes on the prize... Was in Sap for 2 years and only did 2 months of SAP work. Now doing awesome projects at ACN strategy. If you are at all functional do not stay in SAP. I was always told I need to learn config and get more technical... You can transfer to S&O too if you play your cards right and have skills they want
Heard SAP got hit by layoffs (albeit small compared to S&O) this year though...
Margins are too thin. If I wanted to do shit like that I'd go to Tata or Infosys.
Margins are thin? Are you crazy? SAP engagements are one of the most revenue generating projects :/
With all do respect, volume? We don't sell shampoos, margins at big 4 is based on number of ours, size of teams, length of project etc., at which SAP leads by an absolute landslide. This is to the best of my knowledge atleast but then again I've only been here for a year.
Number of hours*
I don't see how a professional services company can sell projects worth 20-30 mill (large implementation projects) and have low margins.
Fair point D2, we are on the same page now. But still not as low as something like risk.
