Is sick day a thing in busy season? I’ve had the worst headache the past few days and when the Tylenol wears off, it’s worse than before I take the meds

Tell you’re team your sick and cannot come into the office. Bonus points for implying explosive 💩

If you’re behind on sleep and making up for it with caffeine it could very well be your culprit. I had that last year, took a day mostly off and slept like 12 hours and did maybe 4h of work from home between naps. It was delightful and i felt way better after

like

Yeah its so worth it for overall productivity and well being

FYI overuse of Tylenol for head aches can cause head aches

Also maybe see a doctor?

Dehydration is usually the culprit anytime I have a headache. Try drinking a bunch of water and get some rest. Disclaimer - I am not a doctor.

Just want to add that there is a thing called rebound headaches from taking too much Tylenol.

Thanks everyone! I definitely need to cut down on my caffeine consumption and drink more water and more sleep too

like

Yes sick days are a thing. Especially if you are
contagious. It’s in everyone’s best interest for you to stay home and get better. You can’t spread a headache to others, so I’d say it’s a judgment call on how sever and if you need medical attention.

like

This. If you feel well enough to work, fire up your computer at home. But don’t sneeze and cough on everyone in the audit room and claim that “your allergies are bad”

Make sure you have proper nutrition especially when it's the busy season. Lots of vitamins help the body deal with stress and having headaches could indicate a deficiency.

Yeah get vitamin D supplements. You likely aren’t getting much/any sunlight doing this job. Makes a big difference.

What do you do when you realize accepting that promotion was a wrong decision? You had a lower income (but that you could live ok - without excesses) and not much recognition but peace and complete autonomy over your decisions in the business. On the opposite now, you may make some more money but you have 24/7 headaches, triple of the workload, anxiety, insomnia, a very arrogant manager and little to no indecency. How do you find peace to forgive yourself? How do you cope with that feeling?

34 and 9 weeks pregnant. Still haven’t even told my mom as my husband is still not convinced we should ever be parents. It’s emotionally too much to handle.
