Best time to do it.

You’ll be fine... first off, a lot of people did just that back in 09. Second - this isn’t the Great Recession - it’s a near term problem, not structural and systemic like ‘08 was.

Agree for the most part, but corporate debt is very high right now. It's possible these short term impacts could cause trouble for some highly leveraged companies.

It will only only set you back 10 years or so

I actually think we are nearing the bottom. The markets are fragile and have been like that since 2008. We will continue to see significant decline whenever there is pressure. Remember December 2018? Remember 2014? The markets are just very fragile but will recover soon.

I remember reading a paper that basically said that coming out of top MBAs, most of the negative earnings effect can be explained by investment banks hiring fewer people, which pushes some people into consulting or other jobs. Far from a disaster

Post MBA NYC Management Consulting as an international student:
NYU Stern 2Y Program vs Cornell Johnson 2Y ($50,000)?
I want to work in NYC and my boyfriend is working there (so the living expense is not a trouble). Love both school, but
1. Does Stern offer a close-knit and tight culture as Johnson does?
2. Is location that important for MBA recruiting process in the U.S. for consulting?
Thank you in advance!!

Hello everyone, I am an HR Generalist in the Miami area. I have one formal year of experience in HR, plus 8 years of management experience with plenty of transferable skills. I will be graduating with my MBA with a concentration in HR Management. I’m getting paid $50,000 annually. Is this a fair salary? I feel I am a bit underpaid, especially given the cost of living in Miami. Thanks!

Hello! I will be attending an unranked B-school in London this fall. I chose the school for a handful of reasons (family, time, program, budget) and even before I have determined that I want to become an MBB consultant post MBA.

I come from an EM country, 10 years in Financial Services from brand-name global firms. Undergrad - Foreign Service.

Realistically, what are my chances of getting into MBB as a consultant? Do I even have a shot at an associate consultant role?

At what point do I make my resume more than 1 page with prior service experience? Should I?
I’m passively taking interviews. I’m in DC, couple years post-MBA with >, currently in an exec cert program, and multiple experiences with clients. I was 5+ years as an O on active duty, but I’ve been slowly diminishing those bullet points with corporate exp and education instead. They were great bullet points for getting me into grad school, but I haven’t seen their RoI with private sector/corporate HMs.
