I anticipate receiving a tentative offer from the DOD. I'm trying to figure out what I should negotiate. All of the listed items below at once? Or would it be wiser to be strategic about what elements to try to get first? Any inputs are greatly appreciated.
1. Salary
2. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses
3. Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)
4. Signing Bonus
5. Annual Leave: Rate of Accrual

From what I hear, salaries are...
M&A > ITS > domestic tax
I would think it would be hard to normalize salaries unless international was brought up. The market for M&A is higher. If you don’t meet it, people leave.
Bringing up international has other problems (e.g., more compliance responsibilities, generally lower margin work).
Thanks EY1 and Tax Manager. I transferred as a manager and although I don’t expect a raise, I was wondering whether I would see a small salary adjustment. Time will tell!
Fingers crossed for you! 🤞
I think yes but in early stages of your career it depends on your credentials, ie, jd vs jd/llm vs cpa). After while, salaries converge
In our ITS group staff 2(jd) makes around 105k

Also, I switched into ITS when I became a manager. I got a 15% bump, but it’s hard to know how much of that was related to service line change vs. the manager promotion.
