Rising Star
I think it’s industry and location focused. My friend who looked for a UX position in west coast tech found a job after 2months. My friend with a consulting background looking for a marketing or PM position in NYC has been searching for 4 months.

Advertising jobs? It’s pretty bad, maybe not at your level and outside the big shops....There are a few postings, but as usual, many of them are theoretical, fake or outdated. Lots of competition, so qualifications are getting ridiculous (especially for art directors), while pay is dropping.
It's also seniority-based... entry-level people are getting and hired more quickly than the very senior-level people. For example, a newer worker has been searching less than 2 months is already getting interviews, a more senior agency comms friend has been out of work 2 years and still hasn't found a good fit.
Definitely location and industry focused. If I was on either coast, especially the east coast, my interview calendar would be full. Things are a little slower in the Midwest, at least for now. I’m still getting contacted and have interviews scheduled so there’s progress.
Can’t expect the job market to be like pre-COVID unfortunately. There are more people looking for work where before the recruiters were hunting for us. Hang in there.

I think there is a bowl for unemployed ad folks. I’m in PR on the east coast and it only took a few days for the first interview. 4 weeks for the first 2 offers.
