Regardless of what you believe, Trump did more for women and parents than any other modern president in the US. Just saying...

likefunny

The only reason this is happening is that Dems bartered and have Trump his Space Force in exchange for paid parental leave. This wasn’t Trump’s idea.

Doesn’t start until October 2020- ie FY2021.

Is the parental leave policy for both mothers and fathers?

It should be. But it’s only for employees covered by FMLA, so one might have to have worked for a year prior.

like

Yes both parents (and adoptees) can use it.

Any recommendations for a postpartum get-back-in-shape program I can do from home (app, website, etc)? I (luckily!) don’t have any crazy pelvic floor issues, but have had some real back pain so looking for a program with good core strengthening, as well as a balanced focus that can generally help me shed the post baby weight.

Question for people with nannies/home child care in NYC…how much are you paying them? Any benefits being offered to them? Sick days? Paid holidays? Vacation? First time Mom and the range I am getting from candidates seems so high not sure what is fair in this field. I don’t want to short anyone working to care for my baby but also don’t want to feel like I am working just to pay for the care.

PwC moms, looking up the paid parental leave policy. It seems like even though I will be eligible for 26 weeks of leave, only 8 of these will be paid. Is that right, looking for guidance here.

My little girl now has an option of returning to school in-person through her spring break. My spouse is a high risk + extra careful when it comes to all things pandemic. I'm worried about my little kid's lost year & want her to go to school & interact with her friends, learn, etc. She's been home since March. Schools are being extra careful, maintaining all precautions, etc. But I can't convince my spouse to agree to this. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Father of two young kids (both <= 3), we are now considering a third. I’m already struggling to make time given a busy work schedule as a Partner with relevant travel...am I completely crazy?

My SO has been a pot smoker for nearly 20 years. He's smoked nearly daily since he started in college, sometimes multiple times a day. I've always had issues with it, but since he was high functioning I didn't mind it too much until we recently had a child together. After baby was born, he continues to smoke multiple times a day and didn't have a problem with his family smoking in the house until I called him out and got into a huge fight.
