Is the number of years of working experience written on Google JD a hard rule? Or could be flexible especially if coming from MBB/consulting?

Just my sense from other companies, if within a couple years you can apply and see if the recruiters are impressed with the resume.

At Google based on what we hear and read, it’ll likely make the case to down level. In that case depends on headcount or if managers willing to take a lower level person than originally budgeted.

like

Rarely is anything hard on JDs, it flexes with each candidates profile. Google, being as competitive as it is, even from a MBB I would target positions that you satisfy the requirement

like

Would say there’s a massive difference being less than a year short on the requirement vs 2+ years.

If listed in minimum, it is a hard requirement.

like

That would be a minimum requirement in my eyes, but caveating that I am not in the recruiting team. Will let others comment on that

Minimum needs to be met. And some for pref for you to be considered for screen.

In my opinion no

Got an offer with a 35% bump doing similar work and with the option with some remote (usually work in the office full time). Commute is a tad longer and its a small, young firm. I’ve always worked for the big guys — Deloitte, ACN. I guess the worry is the unknown of a small firm with only a handful of contracts. Granted I do hold a TS/SCI w/ poly, so if it goes bust I should be fine job security wise. Go for it?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

How much does comp & title matter?

Considering a manager -> 2 titles lower but 35% increase salary non mbb. I’m not in strat consulting now

I want to go VC / Start up I think but still interested in giving strategy consulting a shot.

Got to final round for mbb for post mba role - have another shot in ~3 months.

Do I stay where I am, try for mbb again? Take the title demotion but increase pay and call it a day, or just say screw it and go to early stage? Struggling here - don’t love
